Memph, TN Mid-South Con discussion

I'll be there Friday around five. I originally was planning on being there earlier, but Kashyyyk Yerbouti and I had a miscommunication. I thought he was taking Friday off.

I'll just be happy to spend some time with my friends. I hope there's some time when I can hang with each of you. That's why I'm coming to Memphis!

 

I extended the invite to Thursday's dinner to KJA. Don't know when they're getting in or what their plans are, though.

Kevin sends his regrets, but they're not coming in until Friday afternoon. I expect it's straight from there to the opening ceremonies.

Ok, final headcount call for dinner tonight. Let either Traci or I know ASAP if you are planning on going to dinner tonight if you haven't confirmed already.

I have extended the dinner invitation to Gail Simone and her husband, but she's cannot confirm yet due to a deadline.

 

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the con this weekend! I'll start posting pics soon, but I'm about to go home and get some much needed sleep.

 

I think this was one of the best MSCs in a long time. I had a blast, but I'm completely wiped out. I always enjoy hanging out with my SMT friends and my comics friends.

And speaking of conventions, I'll be adding the celebrity guest announcements on Wednesday morning for Superman Celebration. (No comics announcements yet, though. )

 

"Springing forward" should be illegal during a Con.

But yeah, it was great this year! Very organized and the feedback from the guests (that I've seen) has been positive. I still think there are waaaaaay too many panels, but I had several guests tell me that they appreciated having moderators, so that was nice.

Had a blast hanging out with old friends and meeting some new ones. Good Con, good con... *handshakes all around*

It's amazing how much geek talent there is in Memphis. It was too kyul meeting JJM and Dean and Jim, not too mention the non-Memphian guests...

The next Con Meeting will be April 18 at the Main Library. If you can't come, I can pass on any information to get started on MSC 29. It is great to hear that everyone enjoyed themselves this year.

That's the day before my Topps deadline, so hopefully I'll have my cards turned in and I'll be free. I need to sit down and make a list of what I thought worked, what didn't, and any ideas to improve them.

Overall I think it was great.

I had a blast and thought the con went by waaaaaay to fast- losing an hour didn't help!

Michael Sheard came here to Memphis for Midsouthcon for several years in a row before he passed away a few years ago. Never saw him at con without his bow-tie!

Just passing on the word that the next Con Meeting will be Sunday, the 16th at 2pm at the Main Library on Poplar.
