MIDI of Across the Stars

To anyone who's working on one, I've started one (up to bar 25) and I'm bored now

Across the Stars is a total waste of manuscript paper. There's no playing around. It's AWEFUL. It's old. It is a plain copy of the theme from "Sommersby" by Danny Elfman and uses the same tone variation in "Conan the Barbarian" by Basil Poledouris.

Oh. I forgot. Has anyone actually listened to the score from "Independence Day"? John Williams stole the main theme from David Arnold.

It doesn't sound anything like Conan the Barbarian. Which, if you're going to nitpick is just a "ripoff" of the plainchant melody of Dies Irae at one point too.

No.

And I have it on good authority (I'm not one in this respect myself, but I trust a friend with her Master's degree in Music) that the theme is in fact a sort of inversion of the Main Titles of Star Wars. So you're right. He's guilty. Of ripping off himself.

It's a good job it's MIDI then, cos that doesn't use any manuscript paper.

But you are right. AtS is "Aweful" as in full of awe.

And if anyone's nicked the main theme from ID4, it's me in the score for Doom Raiders

Can somebody tell me the notes of ACROSS THE STARS, please? Here are the notes of the first few bars of the RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK theme on the piano from middle C: E-F-G-C(2), D-E-F, G-A-B-F(2), A-B-C(2)-D(2)-E(2).

There are 3 prominent themes in ID4, and none of them sound like any of the SW themes, inverted or not. I know, because I can play them all on the keyboard, and David Arnold is a fan of simple scale melodies, like in Stargate. JW uses a much more complex method of devising and performing themes.
