Midichlorians?

I know that I'm not going to miss them, but why was there no mention of midichlorians in AOTC? Did Lucas scrap the idea? Or was some scene cut?

 

We don't hanker to none of them mid-eye-chlorines 'round these here parts!

Exactly. No midichlorians, no N-Sync, minimal Jar-Jar, Yoda Lee, & Natalie's tummy. Perfect combination!

 

i havent even seen anythig about them in the book yet .

 

There isn't anything in the book about them either.

 

Maybe Lucas realized what a bad idea they were and decided to cut them out. There will no doubt be a special edition of Phantom Menace with all references to midichlorians cut...

 

n'sync was in the movie (at least according to those weirdos over at Phoenix). I've also heard several other forums talk about seeing them in the flick. Apparently one of them is the one who tosses anakin and obi-wan the lightsabers in the arena battle.

 

I wondered about the dark haired, goateed Jedi who chucks one of the sabers to Ani & Obi. But I wouldn't know a member of N'Sync anymore than I would recognize a 'Survivor'. I was pretty certain the bald Jedi tossin' them the other saber was NOT of the N'Sync order, he might be a New Kid though. I definitely saw one of the Menudo boys in the Senate though...

 

I'm sure I saw Britney in the bar on Coruscant...

 

yeah, I haven't specifically looked for them, but people on the phoenix forum seemed to know several places that n'stync appeared...

 

Yeah, Phoenix WOULD know who to look for in N'Sync now, wouldn't they?!

back to the main topic:

Lucas said on the DVD commentary for TPM that the reason he put midichlorians in was as a point of exposition to give the force a biological source and not just simply a spiritual one. They aren't going to be mentioned anymore because they've already served there purpose.

 

I honestly like the midichlorian concept. I even did a biology report on them (my teacher thought I was a little off kilter). I think I got a B+ on that project

 

blah, don't start. I was being nice, i was being sarcastic. it was very lighthearted and joking when I was saying it to them.

 

Maybe I should write a dissertation on the Midichlorian concept.....I could hook up Jedi to synaptic sensors, and track their conversations.....FLOL!
