Treasury thread updated with expenses, but I don't know who to reimburse for Sam's Club and Albertsons. AR? O_W?

 

ZOO had a great idea for next year. Cupcake/Cookie station, people decorate their own. We can just sit back & watch???

And take their own sweet time doing it.

My vote's still for waffles and ice cream. You can get waffles or you can get ice cream or you can get both and make it a sandwich. Satisfies both the breakfast camp and the dessert camp.

 

I think we should re-visit the pastry bar we did a few years ago. Ho-Ho's, DingDongs and Twinkies, oh my. That was EASY PEASY!

Plus my germ a phobicness comes out for the cupcakes and I think of the frosting and how would you do it so people dont get their gross hands all over it, or kids will lick it off their hands and touch it again..............ewwwwwwww!!!!

Dispoable pastry bags filled with just enough frosting for a cookie or cupcake...
A quick search found a 200 pk for $33 or so. A more exhaustive search might be able to find a better deal.
If you cut the tip of the bag right we wouldn't even need metal or plastic tips.

The prep involves people making cookies/cupcakes, buying the other stuff, and showing up. Everyone gets a knife, everything else is in shakers, the time it takes them is not our issue.

No germs involved. You get one on a plate, you decorate it on the plate with your own utensil and you're done.

 

it is a great idea! we could use the little paper cups for the cupcakes as well.

This actually makes sense, the more I think about it...you know those little muffin cups? We could have those pre-filled with frosting and they could choose their color and take their plastic knife, plate and pastry and decorate it themselves...I bet we could even find single serving sprinkles so they just take their crap and dont clog the line...

 

Quick search reveals zilch in prepackaged single serving sprinkles...but we could buy bulk and put a spoonful into a tiny cellophane baggy...or heck even use the tiny muffin cups for sprinkles. With a little foresight it could indeed become a self served event.

 

I've done this at a school fair before...shakers & plates work fantastically.
