Over the years, though, Even has sought to distance himself from the works of his youth.

 

Millennials really can't make change. Its hilarious. Especially if the bill is like $15 and you hand them $21. They look at you like you are crazy. That I blame more on the schools than anything.

Yes, they're rightly abandoning the practice of passing off $6 bills as legitimate.

well, i mean, everythings in my phone, labeled by name. and numbers and addresses for businesses and such i can look up online easily. and addresses ive been to are in my gps history. so yeah there's just not a lot of incentive for me to commit these things to memory

i think he means if you owe 15 and change and you want to get a 5 and change back instead of 4 ones and change. its stupid tho. i wouldnt "look at someone like they were crazy" for that but i might look at them like they were an ******* if i was having an unguarded moment

 

I'd perhaps be more sympathetic to people who lament the lost art of change making if there weren't generations upon generations of people who took unwarranted pride in forgetting most of their mathematical skills, or asked their math teachers when they were ever going to use the material, or displayed general hostility to anything more complex than simple addition. Sucks, doesn't it? SUFFER AS I HAVE SUFFERED.

I think an education system that produces generations worth of people who call it "math" instead of "maths" is actually more problematic than people not being able to do entry level algebra.

Two points;

1) You are very respectable, Ramza, so saying "math" is disappointing, and
2) Is blubeast just a literate, legible beezel?

 

And still we hear echoes of the great sigh to the present day, for despite the vast tracts of evidentiary data available to establish both the age of the universe and traces of the gravity waves rippling from Even's neck movements as he shook his head in despair -- ASR, mf24k, and LJE still assert the Earth as being only six thousand years old, on the basis of a beezel tract.

 

I think people who complain about even the most basic mathematics are the same people who type in full URLs to a google search bar, hit return, then click on one of the results, because just typing the URL into your browser's address bar would be too easy. Then you sort of just stare at them like, "What the **** is wrong with you?" and they get all defensive and say, "I know, I know," and you're like, "No, you don't, you clearly do not, why would you do that? You're just making your own life difficult."

And then they struggle to figure out a 15% tip on a $20 bill at the bar later that night.
