ST Millennium Falcon in Episode IX

I think if Kylo is redeemed it would be great to see him fly the Falcon to Ahch-To to exile himself as the second to final scene of 9.... Either he goes alone and the Falcon sits on the beach with the waves crashing around it, or Chewie drops him off and flies away (Cut back to heroes Rey, Finn and Poe celebrating).

 

I voted for the Falcon to be destroyed, aka "duh."

IMO it would be fitting for the ship to be confined within the borders of this nine episode saga. (I'm counting Solo with this, since it's about introducing a main character from this saga.) A fitting end. I've always imagined Chewbacca sacrificing himself and the Falcon in some sort of "blaze of glory" type of effort, which saves everyone in a certain action sequence...

Not unlike what Paige Tico did, actually...

 

My guess is that it'll retire and be replaced by the Millennial Falcon which will have a hard time finding work.

If during the movie they have a running theme of things breaking down or falling off the Falcon, then be prepared....

 

I don't know if they'll destroy or not the MF by the end of ep 9 -that would be a bold and quite powerful moment actually, if it fits the narrative of course-, but if ep9 closes the saga then this has to be the last appearance of the iconic ship I suppose. If there's an episode 10 and more then i don't know, i still think ep9 should be the last episode featuring Han's ship but we should have an open mind about it...

 

I think it'll get a new paint job

 

Having the Falcon destroyed would be a pretty impactful thing to do.

 

If they introduced a new hero ship in the ST, I think it's destruction near the end would be a forgone conclusion.

However, since they haven't at this point, I could see it go down near the climax and be rebuilt in the outro (with maybe a few new parts for Rey and Co. to call their own), like the Milano at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1.

 

I would love for Ben Solo to have a chance to be in the pilot's seat at some point in IX. It could be so symbolic on a journey home toward redemption.

 

I'd rather see that the final Solo/Skywalker gets blown up in the falcon without redemption.
Chewie places a bomb in the falcon and when Kylo grabs it Chewie blasts it.

 

Somehow, I would like to see Kylo Ren get behind the controls of the Falcon.

 

I definitely don't expect it to survive.

 

I hope it survives. It might get badly damaged in 9, but hopefully gets remodeled or restored by Chewie.

 

I feel like JJ Abrams will spare it and the tone of the film will be celebratory, much like TFA felt. That also means fully redeemed and optimistic Luke.

 

I'll cry a river of tears if Chewie goes on basically a suicide mission in the Falcon which helps save the fleet in the climax of IX but ends in the ship going down in flames. I'd hate to see it, but in some ways it could be fitting and really impactful. Maybe Nien Nunb or even Lando are with him for the final space battle and there's that moment when they look at each other and decide to go for it and be heroes, even though the chance of survival is slim to none.

 

Lucas stated the Saga is the story being told to the Whills by R2-D2. I like to think he used the Falcon to find them.

I think the problem with the falcon is that whose the owner now?

Just like with Chewbacca without Han there seems to be a struggle of purpose for them.

I still wouldn't be shocked if Poe gets it in episode 9.

 

Leia is officially the owner as Han's wife.

And loans it out to Chewie and Rey.

As of now though, it's the only ship in her private military.

 

They hand it over to it's true owner, the one that got cheated out of it by a Corellian scoundrel...

That would be amazing.

 

If the above Scene is showing Lando being angry at Han for "cheating" him out of his ship, then he sure got over it fast. The very next Scene(after Han's retort that he won her fair and square) has him hugging Han Solo with a grin and laugh, and telling him how good it is to see him.
