Mini-Con 2 (anime con)

I mentioned that there is a Anime con here in town on April 5 during the meetings.

So are you guys going to enter any of the contests?

 

I dont plan on it. I plan to make a anime based costume one of these days, but i'm not going to wear any of my star wars things there.

 

Mike you should enter one of your Music vids. I think you could do well in the contest.

 

I don't have away of putting the QT file that is of ok quality to a CD or tape. Other wise i just might have.
On top of that i have to have it to them by March 15th

 

I could put it in on VHS for you. All I need is a tape, and the QT file.

 

Do you have anything like MSM IM Billy? that i could transfer the file to you directly? it's 72megs so i can't upload it or email it to you.

Two real quick things.

1. For you IM junkies out there, check out www.trillian.cc.

2. I've heard some bad reports about Mini-Con in the past. Like there where 2 vendors and only about 50 ppl there. Anyone ever attend the last one? I would like to know what they thought.

 

I don't think any of us did. I don't mind small conventions either, sometimes those are the most fun. I think they are gonna get a better turn out this year as well since they had a both at Trek expo (which is how i found out about it) At the very least it'll be something to do hehehe

I've got pretty much everything set up to tape off your video. In fact I'm typing this using my TV as my PC monitor right now. All I have to do is hook up the sound tomorrow and we'll be all set. I'll have the tape by Saturday for sure.

I have to agree the logo mascot is kinda scary, but Lisa you forgot the one truely creepy feature... most of them are covered in fur and have a tail. ... course i don't plan on buying a shirt

you need to try and understand(watch your feet I am going to try and say something smart) that Japan has not pick up on the Womens movment like the US has. Anime is from Japan we have to look at it like a forgine(sp) film. I have seen many things I didn't like in anime, for exp. Gundam Wing the main char is named after that worlds GREAT HERO, which in fact is the same name of the Japanise leader that ordered the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Just because they women are drawn large then life and they stab you in the eye with small details, you have to watch them like any other movie, with an hope mind most times. OK this is MY thought. If i have said anything that anyone dislikes or is offened by my statement I am sorry.

 

I believe what Poindexter was saying was about watching it with and OPEN mind. It's not that Japan isn't womans rights Otto, infact it's pretty far off. It's that thier culture doesn't think of sexual materials as dirty and wrong the way ours does. Then again back to Lisa's point too... these mascots where not drawn in Japan but by people doing the con... so most of what i say can be ignored and Lisa still turns out right LOL

So Mike2 how did your Video do? Didn't look like there was much to challenge you, but I'm a bias friend

 

*shrugs* I dunno, never figured out how they did it. I wasn't about to say till 6 PM for the other showing of the same videos either.

Most of them were kinda weak, just random scenes with music playing, but the Inuyasha "Butter Fly" was definatly the best one there, and the Freakazoid Vash was great too... others were pretty boring hehe.
