San Joaquin, CA Minutes For June 17th meeting

The Senate was called to order at 7:23 p.m.
Members present: Charles B. Tiffany B. Barry P. Bette S. Cheryl P. Greg S. Josh W. Jerry S. Liz S. Guests Derek M. Jeanette
Minutes from the May 27th and June 4th meeting were read and approved.

The meeting opened with a greeting from the Emperor and introductions of guests. He then turned the meeting over to the CR for a report on the progress with finding TheForce.Net and/or FanForce area that contained the Rules of Conduct that the former President and CR and reported to the club on May 27th were required for all members to sign upon joining Fan Force. The CR reported that she was unable to find this site and had inquired of other clubs and RSA. The opinion seemed to be that clubs created their own bylaws etc. She said that she would continue to look into this matter to make sure that TCFF did not operate against TheForce.Net or FanForce.

Website: Our web master presented three logos for us to review and the club as a whole preferred Logo #2. He wants our ideas for what we would like to see on the website. He reported that he will research servers etc. He said that the logo could also be used on business cards and T-shirts. Derek said that he could produce plastic business cards for us and had other ideas.

Conventions:
The Emperor gave us a print out of a couple of upcoming conventions. This was ComicCon and LosCOn. There was also talk of WonderCon and BayCon. At this time it appears that six members are going to attend ComicCon.

Charity:
It had been brought to the attention of some members that it was being said that TCFF does not want to do charity work. This was brought forward to the club and the consenus was that we are interested in doing charity work but need information on these events. In the past it would be brought up and then tabled to wait for more information on what was wanted from us and where it was to be done. So, we are not against charity and need ideas. Some that were thrown out were Fire Fighters for M.S. and Cancer patients. Also Toys for Tots.

Treasurer Report:
The Ex-Chequer, Keeper of the Purse reported that the former treasuer had not yet turned over the 'BIg-Bag-of-Change' so he was not sure how much we had at this time. The former Treasuer stated that there was now $39.09. Also that she needed to be reminded to about the bag.

Costumes:
The Emperor requested that everyone give a list of what costumes they have and what they would like to have. This list will be compiled.

New Business:
We spoke about doing Harry Potter costumes for the upcoming release. Barry mentioned that he had been contacted by the Galaxy theatre about doing another Star Wars promo later this summer. He will get more information and pass it on to the Emperor.

Sabre practice will be every two weeks, offically but members may get together more often as they like. The Emperor wants to use colored T-shirts to help with practice but needs to rethink his color choices since we now have so many at sabre practice.

Topics for future meetings included plans for Halloween.

The Senate adjorned at 10:25p.m.

 

Plans for halloween are plans I would definately love to hear

 

There should be more information at the next meeting on Halloween plans.

well i must say i've had plans for halloween for the last four years and for this one as well and they are held in porterville. Talk to cheryl for the low down of it.
