Canada Misconceptions about Canada

Oha nd I have a lizard who lives in my house, plus a kanagaroo in thre back yard, snakes and Koalas, and a crocadile too

 

I dont know if this has been posted... but that we live in Igloos and everything north of the US border is covered in snow!!!
Thats what I get from people in the states when Ive gone south!!! Pretty funny!!!

The worst thing that bothers me is that we're all supposed to say "eh" with every sentances.

 

Well, if you watch This hour as 22 minutes, they have one heck of a retard doing chronicles from a dunkin donut's and she always says "eh" at the end of her sentences... So perhaps they get that impression from this show, who knows!

Oh and they also have the Red Green show to better understand our canadian culture... eh?

I think some of the Molson Canadian commercials sum it up. For example
here . I also liked the one that had the American woman asking " Do you know Bob? (giggle) He lives in Canada. (giggle) He works in a office. " to which the Canadian man says " Oh yeah, office Bob................he's dead"
Well it's funny when you actually see it...... Trust me.... (you might need to be Canadian to really appreciate it)

 

Most Americans don't realize that Canada is actually a Constitutional Monarchy, with the Queen as our Head of State.

 

And some don't realize that Canada is not part of the US, that it's another country!

Lol...what a hilarious thread. As an American, I can honestly say I knew nothing about Canada when I first started goin to college in New Brunswick. Boy, did I learn fast!!

However, I have noticed, goin to a school where we have many people from Ontario on east, and all over the states, that people from Ontario use "eh" more frequently than anyone else I've seen!!

If you look on the second page, where IZird posted something about a friend who thought Grand Manan was its own province, and not part of New Brunswick, I am ashamed to say that was me!! I got corrected on that last year, and now, come August, I will be spending three months on Grand Manan!!

Y'alls beer commericals are awesome...especially the attack beaver and the office Bob one...those were great!!!

And I LOVE CANADA!!! I would never give up my American citizenship for it (at the most, I would go dual) but it's great!!!

Oh, my land...I don't want to even get started on the cold!! I'm from south Florida, where it's normally in the teens (celcius) in winter, and snow would cause every major highway and interstate and store and city to close down tighter than fort knox (if it ever evened snowed there!)...

Grand Manan is a little island about an hour and a half ferry ride from Black's Harbor, NB...it's actually closer to Maine, and was once owned (well, disputedly owned) by the States, who then gave ownership to Canada in exchange for three other islands. It's got a population of less than 3,000...and I thought Sussex ( ca 4500) was small....

 

Which islands did we give them, and what is the value and population of these islands?
