PT Misconceptions you had as a kid Prequel Edition

I unfortunately thought the same thing...

 

Up until the release of ROTS I remember being convinced that Sidious was not Palpatine, mainly because I was so sure that seeing as Sidious looked exactly like Palpatine in ESB and ROTJ that it was entirely pointless to not explicitly show them as the same person. I figured there'd be some twist like Palpatine would kill and take on the visage of Sidious, who was a separate Sith lord, at some point.

 

Lol, I thought that one too!

 

I thought Sidious wore the hood because he was having a bad hair day.

 

I thought RicOllie had a lot of useful things to say.

 

I remember wondering "what if palpatine *fell* to the dark side in Episode III" instead of him being evil all along. Silly me!

 

Quite embarrassing, but I thought Ric Olie was actually a relevant character, that his lines were actually clever and that he would definitely have an important role in Episode II.

 

On the subject of Ric Olie, I remember thinking he was killed during the Battle of Naboo for some reason.

 

I remember watching the STAPS flying through the forests of Naboo and thinking to myself....

"Now this is podracing!"

I was incorrect.

 

Back in 2004 I was certain a teenage Boba would appear on ROTS because I saw a photoshop montage of Michael Logan in Boba Fett's amor and thought it was actual leaked footage from the movie.

 

I've never heard of such an image. Do you still have access to it?

 

I don't remember where I found it. It was just a fan montage and I think it was deleted shortly after.

 

I wasn't a kid, but I thought the "sith legend" of Darth Plagues was some ancient sith tale passed down through the generations, rather than being about Palpatine's actual master. I still prefer my first interpretation

 

I used to think Ric Ollie was Tarkin.

 

I thought Queen Amidala was a bad guy, and the commander of an army of battle droids.
I thought Darth Vader (not Anakin) and Darth Maul would be in the Phantom Menace together.

 

When my dad told me Episode I had Darth Vader as a kid in it, I thought he was going to be a kid clad in the black armor demanding everyone around.

Actually, yes, very much like Stewie.

 

I was confused when Darth Maul force-pushed Obi-Wan into the pit because I thought only Jedi had force powers. This confusion makes no sense in regards to my enjoyment of the OT at the time.

 

I thought Yoda and Mace actually lived in an old folks home.

 

I thought Yoda was one of the Muppets.

 

I thought that too and the first time I saw TPM I honestly had not a clue Palps was the Emperor.

 

When Attack of the Clones came out, I thought Anakin and Obi-Wan were trying to copy Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's haircuts in The Phantom Menace.

 

I think they kind of were, actually
But the Jedi mullet will forever haunt my nightmares

 

When Obi-Wan was sent to Utapau, and told R4-G9 to muster the fleet to the planet, you see Obi-Wan now hiding in the darkness of the cliffs, as R4 leaves with the starfighter to get Cody. I sort of had a crazy notion that (I suppose because I thought Obi-Wan was on the ship, and because Obi-Wan looks a bit like him with the hood on) Qui-Gon was the person standing there.
