Brass in pocket by the pretenders:

    Gonna use my arms
    Gonna use my legs
    Gonna use my style
    Gonna use my SAUSAGE
    Gonna use my fingers
Gonna use my, my, my imagination

Not sure what it's meant to be, but my version's better

My kids heard "We've Got the Beat" by the Go-Go's as "We've got to pee."

    We've got to pee
    We've got to pee
    We've got to pee
    We've got to...

    Fight Song by Rachel Platten

Losing friends and I'm chasing sleep
    Everybody's worried about me
    In 2-D
    Say I'm in 2-D...

Every time this song came on this is what I heard it as, and it eventually irritated me to the point where I needed to go onto Google to see what the actual words were.

In the Manfred Mann version of "Blinded by the Light," "wrapped up like a douche" is clearly enunciated. In the Springsteen version, it sounds like "cut loose like a deuce." wtf

I thought it was "revved up like a deuce" cuz that makes sense.

Remember "Billy Don't Be A Hero" from way back? I thought it was about an alien invasion. "The Martian man came down on Main Street." What can I say? I was about five. [face_blush]

My mom thought "Ain't No Hollaback Girl" was "Ain't No Harlem Black Girl" until me and my brother corrected her.

Yes... "excuse me while I kiss this guy".

Also, "When smoke descends" instead of "When Smokey sings."

I knew someone who thought the lyrics to Drift Away were "Give me the Beach Boys and free my soul..." .
She thought this with both the original and the cover from the 00's.

I've always been bad about mishearing lyrics, I just learned in 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' the words are "They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line, our trio's down to two."

I always heard it as "Our trio's down the tubes." Which at least still makes sense, somewhat.

Sophie B. Hawkin's "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover", it's "I'll rock you 'til the daylight comes", but sometimes I swear "rock" sounds like the f-word.

In "Let's Dance", I always heard:

If you say run, I'll run with you
If you say high, we'll high

I liked that. It's poetic, romantic--say anything, and we'll do it, say high, we'll high. But it's "hide" of course.

She probably meant for that to come across like the F-word. I remember there being some minor pearl clutching when that song first came out.

Whenever I hear Taylor sing Blank space, I hear "got a long list of ex-lovers" as "calling all the starbucks lovers". Either way it's the usual Taylor awesomeness.

I call this phenomenon "Sophisticated Gibberish". You can't tell what the words are, and likely assume they're words or phrases you just don't know. Like, "Clearly this lyricist's understanding of grammer and the english language is far beyond mine."

Until now I would have sworn it went, "All the lovely Starbucks lovers."

That would be fitting, because from that song on, Sting laxates.
