    Mission to Groa
    Han/Leia Pre-ESB Fic
    Puggy

    Author's Note:
The title will eventually change. I haven't gotten far enough to give it a real title yet.

This fic was inspired by and is based loosely upon one of my favorite movies ever, but if I told you what that was, it would give some of the later scenes away--and I don't want to do that.

I'm not sure if Luke/Chewie will play a part. I haven't figured it out yet, lol. I swear, I do know where this is going! Oh, and I made up the city Groa, just so you know.

    - - -

"Captain Solo?" Princess Leia Organa called softly, meandering around the vessel the Millennium Falcon. At first sight--well, at every sight--the spaceship resembled a scrap pile, and it seemed incredulous that it would be able to lift-off, nevermind go point-five past lightspeed. Leia knew how extraordinary the ship was, despite its difficulties, one of which was its overly confident captain, Han Solo.

    "You beckon, Your Highnessness?"

From behind the innards--hanging wires, dangling parts--of the spaceship, a man emerged. His tan skin was smothered with oil, as were his once light-colored clothing and always ruffled hair. And although not convered in grease, his smile was just as dirty, if not more, as the rest of him.

Leia groaned. "Yes, I did, as a matter of fact."

"And which of my services might I offer you today?" Han teased, knowing how much he was irking the Princess. He could see the spark in her eyes light up, and knew that if he kept pressing her buttons, he would get to see an all-out ocular spectacle. The Corellian secretly enjoyed watching the fire dance in her doe-eyes; it simply fascinated him, for some odd reason.

"I come to you with a proposition," commenced Leia, strolling slowly towards Captain Solo. "The Alliance is struggling, Han. We need vehicles for transportation, and we need them badly."

"And this has to do with me how?" Han impatiently interrupted.

The Princess retained her composure, not wanting to give Han the satisfaction of annoying her. "I know where to get a batch of speeders, along with a few other sorts of supplies. When I was about sixteen, my father explained to me the Rebellion efforts, and what he had been doing over the years. He gave me various directions to places where he had left things, and I was to record them all, in case, for some reason," she swallowed, "he would not be able to obtain everything. One of the locations holds many precious items the Alliance could desperately use.

"Han, General Rieekan won't let me go without an escort. He specified you and Luke, and said I had to go with one of you."

"Oh?" Han said, a bit interested in this prospective mission. "And what did Luke say when you asked him?"

Han's question surprised Leia, and she gave a slight shrug. "I... I didn't ask him," the Princess replied softly, embarrassment clinging to her tone.

"Really?" returned Han, even more interested than before. "I was your first choice, then? Oh, Princess! I feel so honored! I wish I had a speech prepared..."

Leia narrowed her eyes. "Don't think I chose you because I like you, because I don't. You're a fair pilot, you know your way around, and you have one of the best ships in the entire Rebellion."

"You really don't like me?" queried Han, stepping closer to the Princess. He tugged off his working gloves and tossed them aside. He then wrapped a disgustingly oil-drenched arm around her shoulder, and noticed her body immediately revert to a defensive position.

"Not in the slighest bit," she said, slipping from under his arm and freeing herself from his gesture. Leia frowned at her originially white jumpsuit, which now had the print of Han Solo's arm across it.

"Not even this much?" badgered Han, holding thumb and forefinger closely together. He grinned as he saw Leia relax a bit.

The Princess could not help but smile at his persistance. She squeezed his finger and thumb closer together and quipped, "Maybe this much. But t

Puggy: you really have an insatiable appetite for H/L!

More great stuff from you! Wow...don't know how you do it!

Love the banter. Esp when Han asks what Luke said to pass up the deal!

As for Luke being in it, it's up to you. If you think you can add him in as a real character rather than an appendage, it might work well, but otherwise, you might run into trouble later when you want to ditch Lukie and have nowhere to ditch him. :)

Amazing. You had me captivated the entire time I was reading that. I don't think I blinked, at all. Now my eyes hurt, but beyond that, I'm looking forward to this progressing! You do Han and Leia so well.

And on your question. I guess it would be alright for Chewie to come along, but I don't know why Threepio needs to be there. I think it would be a perfectly wonderful story if Han and Leia went alone. ;) Very, very, very along.

    I can't wait for more!

Wow, you've got me hooked with only one post!

And you can NEVER have too much H/L in my opinion 8-} :D

I look forward to seeing where you take this one, Puggy. And I think Chewie should be there, but I'm not sure about Luke and Threepio. Actually it'd be quite nice to have no Threepio interrupting everything [face_devil]

This isn't an AU, is it?

Good start, Puggy! I have not yet figured out what movie you are basing it on. And, I don't want Luke in the story. Just Han and Leia, and maybe Chewie, would be just fine. Looking forward to reading more.

Yay! Another Han and Leia fic by Puggy! Rapture!

Loving this, and while I, for one, don't want Lukey there (I love my little farm boy, but I can live without him) unless we can rid of him for extended periods of time. But, heck, I'll read this even if Lukey is there the entire time because I am a H/L addict and my cravings are constant. :-D

    *dances away happily*
