So my company is sponsoring the hunt this year and I get to babysit the rock at the shop tomorrow. If you wanna see it I will be at Northern and Pueblo Blvd with said rock tomorrow from 8am til noon. This has been an FYI brought to you by your friendly neighborhood Mistress. :D

One of the prizes is 1000.00 dollars worth of pizza. How can anyone eat that much pizza? A grand or two in cash, 1500.00 gift certificate from the Castle ROck Outlet shops, 1000.00 in gasoline, like a grand of stuff from Harley Davidson, a honking huge diamond and some other stuff. Totally worth the search, imo.

Do you know if your store is going to get one of the extra clues?

When I worked at Do Drop, we had a little slip of paper and people came in all the time to get the clue.

The local radio station hides a river rock somewhere in the area and gives clues to its location. They start out vague and get progresssively more and more detailed. They hide it with its lettering upside down so you have to work very hard with clues, luck and brains to find it. IF you find it, you win a bunch of stuff.

Local tradition going back 30+ years. People take it pretty seriously.

People try to make fake rocks, steal the rock while its on display before the hunt, etc, etc. Tis funny.

Yeah, last year it got stolen and they had to make a quick replacemnt. In the past couple of years I have helped ppl with the clues. We were about 15 yards from it last year.

Let's see if you can clear up a rumor about the rock then. Is it true that they don't actually hide it until a night or two before the last night of the serach?

Actully they put it out the night before the first clue is given.

    Hm.

Well, we can always try to pool our resources together and get it? Split the goods evenly or something. I remember while I was growing up the rock was only worth $1k, but hasn't it increased to around $5-10k?
