    ...is about to start.

    But first, a question:

Why do the players wear National League or American League jerseys for the HR Derby, but their respective teams' jerseys for the actual game itself?

I guess that's because the Derby is a "for-fun" event, and the All-Star contest is a game, and the players are representing their respective teams.

That's one Hell of a Player Introduction  ALL/Most the Hall of Famers!!!

Comon, I wanna see more of Charissa Thompson ;)

I wonder who is to sing the National Anthem?

    And, it's Sheryl Crow!

But the thing is, the All-Star game is more league-team oriented than the Derby. So shouldn't it be the other way around?

And that was definitely one impressive list of players out on the field all at once.

Nice strikeout to start the game from Cliff Lee. That was textbook.

Does it really make a significant difference in marketing, though? It would seem like maybe if they wore All-Star team jerseys, they could sell those for more...

2 strikeouts from Cliff Lee. The second half should be interesting for him.

Yep, I'm watching. Chipper with the only NL hit so far. :)

The smile is for Chipper, not for the "only". Come on, NL!

My God, have you seen the ugly uniforms from the NBA All-Star Game? Be glad we're not subjected to crap like that in baseball.

Just got home myself and got to turn the game on, so I missed all of Cliff Lee.

True, but its not like the National/American League jerseys are bad, really.

EDIT: and the NL actually leads! Hope they can hold on, but we'll see.

NL up 2-0, 2.5 innings to go.

Also, I like the selection of Josh Groban to sing "God Bless America" :)

strange game ... a Red Sox player gets cheering in Yankee Stadium for hitting a home run, and now a Beach Boy is pitching.

Of course, Papelbon got a big chorus of boos, and it had nothing to do with giving up a run (which I believe was unearned).

Gotta love JD! He's having a good year, and an All-Star Game homer is well deserved.

Grady Sizemore! Hit, stolen base, scores the tying run.

Yeah, if I was a chick I'd be one of Grady's ladies.

Bottom of the 10th, AL has the bases loaded and nobody out, and do not score. Great job by the NL.

They don't want me to go to bed :(

The AL should have won it there.

What happens if they run out of pitchers and the game ends up as a tie? Do they play all the WS games in Kansas City?
