MoCCA (Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art), where we have our monthly meetings, is hosting a big event on Sunday, June 22nd, and they have asked for volunteers. Here is more about it...(taken from LadySith's post on our forum)

MoCCA the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is having their second annual art festival Sunday June 22nd. They have asked for volunteers to help from 7am to 7:30 pm that day. There are great perks to being a volunteer at this show and I encourage as many to help as possible. You are also quite welcome to just come out and say hi! there is a nominal price of admission that goes to help support MoCCA. The following is taken form the MoCCa Website:

With over 2,000 attending, the first MOCCA Art Festival, held at the historic Puck Building in New York, was an overwhelming success. We look forward to seeing everyone back in 2003!

Who: Artists from the comic, cartooning and animation world and the public who loves them.

What: The 2nd Annual MoCCA Art Festival! Buy that piece of original art you've always wanted, get that sketch from a beloved artist, pick up that hot new graphic novel signed by the author. Also there will be panels with the pros, fun fundraisers and more! An exciting Schedule of Events is being planned and is posted here as it stands right now.

Admission: Only $5.00! All entry proceeds benefit the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art.

Where: The Puck Building at 293 Lafayette Street in New York City. This historic Building was named after the legendary, satirical Puck Magazine, published here from 1887 until 1916.

    When: Sunday June 22nd, 2003 from 11a.m. until 7p.m.

    Why: TO HAVE FUN!!!
And to raise money and awareness for the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art and to support the artists who create the work we love.

How: If you are interested in attending, admission is only available at the door, so make your plans now!

If you would like to participate, please contact either myself or LadySith. We hope to see you there!
