As you may or may not have noticed, there were a number of threads this past week pertaining to the YJCC Forum. Next week, it may be the 3SA. The following week, watch out Senate. To better help users and mods alike to quickly know which forum the thread applies to, the administrators have been editing the forum name in brackets or writing if it is a general/Comms-only thread. In the Mod Squad, we?ve resurrected GriffZ?s old Comms thread wherein we edit the title to alert certain mods of a Comms thread pertaining to their forum.

No official decision has been reached, but there is an on-going discussion in the Writers' Resource Forum about the state of the Fan Fiction boards. That discussion can be found here. Sape, you the man! You stay true to your "shades-required-to-view-colours" style! [face_mischief]

    Nice update! :D

I have been singing the new lyrics of late. Love that troll catching bit-oh, that's my name isn't it? [face_laugh]

Ever the creative one, our Sape. ;)

That yellow hurts my eyes, Sape. Though, I'm just glad that the colour of the font isn't pink. :p

Just out of interest, which other forums are the 3SA mods having to drop into every now and again? What I'm getting at is that spoilers can be posted anywhere. And if so, are the 3SA mods called into that respective forum to keep an eye on things? Or this just a problem with the Lit forum?

I can only speak for me. I typically get called in to check the SSSW forum, Lit, and I think one time into the CT. You'll have to check with the other forum's moderators regarding their particular spoiler policies. If it is allowed, I'm positive the title must indicate SPOILER somewhere in it.

In the Welcome forum I sometimes have new JCers posting spoilers because they have a question about it and are new and don't know where to go.

I usually edit to prevent upsetting the "no-spoiler" crowd and I redirect the poster to the 3SA.

As for 3SA's dropping in at WNU, I know some of them do...like Sape and darth-sinister, who I have seen even of late.

And I sometimes clarify spoiler stuff with a 3SA mod if I am uncertain as to whether is is spoilerish or not. :)

    That sounds okay.

I just wasn't too sure about the 3SA mods being called into several other forums on a regular basis. Though I suppose it's something that needs to be done.

Basically, in Lit and SSSW, we have one designated thread in each Forum for Episode III spoilers to be posted in.

So when we get threads that are dealing with speculative issues that might arise in Episode III, I generally ask a 3SA mod to drop in and make sure no one's being a moron and posting "spoilers as theory."

It is far from a regular basis. In fact, it's hardly ever. But when we get the request, we try to respond as quickly as possible.

    Uh.......

    /points to own colors.

Im sorry, but I currently have the brightest colors :D

And bravo on the trek in teh post.

As far as the seprate community thread for fanfic, I say go for it, but make it were you have to register first, like in 3NSA. Those in JCC that dislike me, support this, you might see me less.

What! No mention of me removing The_Bigger_Fish from the brightest colors award ? :p

    No mention of JMT?

KK addressed that in Katya's thread. She has been out of touch and no one seems sure what's up with her.

    I'm a bit late, but:

As you may or may not have noticed, there were a number of threads this past week pertaining to the YJCC Forum. Next week, it may be the 3SA. The following week, watch out Senate.

I know you didn't mean that literally, but I was thinking it might actually be a good idea to periodically have theme weeks or some such thing for the Comms forum. Each week you could ask for suggestions/complaints/more complaints about one specific topic or forum. Some have said in the past that it's not clear whether user input in Comms really accomplishes anything, but if the mods set specific goals (for example, improving 3SA) for certain time frames, perhaps Comms could be more effective.
