    Modsquad Update for the week ending May 19th

    Hats off to Gandolf the Grey and Commander Antilles for helping to write this.

    • Padme Bra (with the help of a hapless mod who shall remain nameless) was voted emergency powers. With a tear in his eye, he reluctantly accepted and promised to lay them down after the newbie rush has abated. After we all stopped laughing, we got back down to business.

    • The bootleg is not endorsed by TF.N and links to it are not allowed. 'nuff said.

    • Continued discussing problem users.

    • cbjedi announced his resignation effective May 16th. We'll miss you, cb!

    • The mods saw AOTC, some before others. Consensus is that there is no consensus...but we're still conspiring against Kadue.

    • A reminder went out to check the unban requests.

    • Official AOTC threads were discussed and links posted to help curb post-AOTC release redundancy in PSA. Hey, every little bit helps.

    • Discussed possible need of more mods and, if so, who might make good mod candidates.

    • It was discovered that Darth Ludicrous has a life. There was a mass intake of breath from the mods, and Vertical, DarthAttorney, and Kadue all had to go lie down in a dark room to recover. The rest of us wish DL and mj the best of luck!

    • Proposal was made concerning a new way to organize spoilers by having three forums rather than two. There would be a ?Hard Core Spoiled? forum, a ?Normal Unspoiled? forum, and a ?Hard Core Unspoiled? forum.

    • The non-spoiled mods had panic attacks when they realized that their two years worth of effort to remain spoiler free was destroyed in little over 2 hours and 13 minutes. On a related note, Mar likes mangos.

    • The spoiled mods had panic attacks when their coordinated war plan was torn apart in little over 2 hours and 13 minutes. They had planned their strategy for months, and had thought themselves ready for anything. On a related note, Gandolf smells burnt toast. (ED: No, that's me - Sturm Antilles).

    • Discussed a possible source of yet more drama. Will this never end?

    • Chyren was looked for in all the wrong places.

    • Once more unto the PSA, dear friends, once more;
      Or close the threads up with burnt out mods!
      On slow days there?s nothing so becomes a Mod
      As modest solving of all problems via PM;
      But when the blast of AOTC blows in out ears,
      Then imitate the course of action of the Gundark;
      Arm the lock button, ready the ban button,
      Disguise fair nature with strict policies:
      Then lend the colors a terrible aspect.

      -Vertical V (III, i, 1-9), a classic Shakesbeerian history.

    Is it just me, or are the updates becoming less about what's going on behind the scenes and more of a comedy club audition?

    I'm very confused as to how this might work. Where's the line between normal and hardcore? And how much traffic would a Hardcore Unspoiled forum get? I was pretty much hardcore unspoiled (presuming my definition is the same for me as you) for AotC to the point that I wouldn't even post in the NSA, so it seems a Hardcore Unspoiled forum wouldn't see much posting outside of a countdown thread and countless "I can't wait" threads. I'm done now.

    Amazing.

    I dunno, sometimes it seems like members of an elite club flaunting their exclusivity with their inside jokes, and all, on those of us who are not part of it, and don't understand. I read these threads out of a genuine interest as to what is going on here at the JC, not to see a bunch of "in jokes" that make no sense to me or many of us, and serve only to inflate each others egos.

    The boring version:

    · cbjedi announced his resignation effective May 16th.

    Amazing, as I understand it, the Hardcore means NO knowledge of the next movie, whatsoever. Not even officially released info.

    Personally, I agree about the notion of not having anything to discuss...but I am waiting to hear more.

    And cb, I noticed this the other day, but didnt want to kick up a fuss. Sorry to see you go buddy.

    Just make sure you dont leave us.

    Were any of the problem users Obi-Zahn Kenobi THIS time? :D

    And did you perhaps discuss how to be the most powerful user ever... even learn to stop people from getting banned? :D

    You know I see nothing wrong with it being funny and informative.

    Edit: I'm just surprised they didn't mention Preacherboy by name this time.

    And Rick McCallum doesn't love me. He's mearly in lust with me and thats just not right.

    Oh, guys. This week was actually a boring week, except for all the new people and redundant threads, and this new movie...?

    So what we threw a little comedy in there? I'd take comedy over drama! any day.

    yeah, what Missy said. Maybe 3,4 things happened this week. Hence the jokes so it wouldn't be so short.

    i have a few ideas for making this a little more interesting, but you must be aware that you run the risk of alienating a large portion of the users here, especially those who don't have those sweet, sweet spaces in their user names, oh and all people who don't own dogs

    I don't think Fate's comment had anything to do with drooling...but it might've...
