I: A new face or two, and other happenings in the Mod Squad

Voting was tight, but Quixotic-Sith narrowly edged out Oakessteve?s_Cat to become the new The Phantom Menace forum moderator. You think we?re joking. We?re not. Really. Congratulations to Quix, and we wish Oakessteve?s Cat better luck next time! (Again, you just think we're joking)

The Mod Squad having voted down both of Gandolf the Grey?s proposals for a moderation selection process involving the users due to concerns over whether they were the best plans possible, the Mod Squad voted in a new Literature forum moderator the traditional way. This does not mean that we are not still open to suggestions and finding a possible way to get users involved, just that there needs to be more brainstorming, and discussion before implimenting a new structure.

The invitation PM was sent. And the user said that he?d have to think about it. He resisted temptation for more than three days before surrendering to the dark side of the boards. On that note, we?re pleased to announce that Genghis12 has entered the ranks of the Mod Squad. He has been turned, and he will be a powerful ally.

Commander Antilles PM?d a random manager out of the blue this morning, asking for Mod Squad access and a promotion. He was given both promptly. After that point the manager in question wondered if he should have asked an administrator before he did so, but since no one complained, said manager hopes that no one minds.

DarthSapient is a sick, sick man. He has pneumonia. Everyone should send him a PM telling him that they hope he feels better soon.

II: Housekeeping

Grilled-Sarlacc moved into Phase IV, icon deletion. This process is now complete and the icons deleted can be found in this thread. He thanks all the great icon-makers for their talents in making this contest a success! The next 4-phase process will be sometime early next year. Icon deletions and additions will still occur, but on a case-by-case basis. Rumors that a secret Fifth Phase is being planned have absolutely no basis in truth whatsoever. Probably.

green_cross_code has made what he promises to be the last thread on forum headers, creating an impressive tutorial for the javascript impaired, making it easy for any newbie manager to create stylish custom headers. Kadue has likewise taken to resting on his laurels. For now. Hopefully, these two creative and technically oriented managers will find new outlets for their talents here on the boards.

Images in manual signatures can effectively be considered barred from use at this point. We ask that people don?t use them.

III: Forum Discussion

Discussion of the future of the Amphitheatre forum went on. We came to the conclusion that it?s still showing signs of life, signs that are growing stronger week by week. In the past week alone in has gone from a little over 7,000 posts to past 9,000. Considering that it took from June until the end of September to get ju

This was a busy week that way. A lot of Drama was going on in Communications, which lead to a lot of discussion in the Mod Squad. A few problem users were discussed. The usual.
