Okay, allow me to help to get it back on topic.

A discussion took place on the possibility of having flag icons available for users, as well as patriotic ones to show support for the military action in Iraq. It was decided that it was best that the icons stay related to Star Wars and have those interested in one for their Fan Force to go about and see that one is made. To show your feelings on Iraq, a user's signature is suggested.

Wouldn't these new icons bring about problems between the users?

 

I believe we should remain true to a Star Wars only theme when it comes to icons. Too many issues arise when we delve outside our realm. The only exception to this, of course, is holiday icons.

 

I have to mirror Sape?s statement. This is a Star Wars message board, and we?re not here to make judgements on the war through use of images. As I told a user by PM, we have over one thousand icons, I?m sure you (meaning anyone) can find one icon that somehow lends support to the troops in Iraq (for example, an image of a rebel trooper or a blaster).

Seriously, you cannot imagine what you're getting yourself into by opening up the icons to countries, religions, and flags. Trust me, stick to Star Wars.

 

Just bring back those Penny-Arcade icons, and the Revolution will be appeased.

Who's banning sarcasm? Interjected here and there along with constructive and on-topic posts are fine. In order to meet your request, however, of a monosyllabic response I should say the following:

Who ban it? We not ban it. You read it wrong.

 

Banning sarcasm has definite merits, and I'm sure if the Administration chooses to do this, they will, as they always do, think it out to the fullest degree, and make sure no one can be injured by the horrendously evil weapon known as sarcasm.

 

The intent of what was written, at its core, was to stress the importance of not derailing and staying on-topic moreso in this forum than in others so that the greater good of the boards is served and all benefit from the discussions.

 

Well, I'd be all for banning vapid sarcasm.

If one is going to attack something, at least make sure it's got a little bite to it. No sense in going only halfway.

Or we could all just not attack each other... I know it's crazy, but I think that might be a good idea.

And for future refrence: Sarcasm in Comms okay, sarcastic attacks of people in Comms not okay? That seems pretty sensible.

Sarcasm is not banned in Communications. By itself, it has not, and will not be banned.

If one can interweave sarcasm without breaking the TOS or the new Comms guidelines, then such posts should be left alone.

And someone please make the Comms. Guidelines thread sticky. It's just too important to leave in the middle of the page.
