Genghis, that is probably one of the funniest posts that I have ever read.

If the whole Philip Wise controversy is over, why is there still an active thread discussing this issue?
When Josh ruled on the fan fic argument all relating threads were closed and it was considered a dead issue?
Would I be allowed to write an open to the JC regarding either the fic issue or the profanity issue and have it discussed without being locked?

No offense to you dp4m, but just let me make the following point:

    Humour in updates -> fine

Updates where you have to try and decode what is said -> not fine

Personally, never saw much point in the window-dressing that many feel needs to be added, but that's okay, each unto their own. Those that want to read it will, those that don't just skip and read the important bits.

It's just hard to do that when you have to work out exactly what is being said by taking apart cultural references.

"There are no plans to sell off or shut down TF.n since LFL has made it clear there are SW plans beyond 2005."

I don't think anyone was afraid of TFN shutting down, they were afraid of the JC shutting down, which is only part of TFN.

Updates where you have to try and decode what is said -> not fine

Then come back to the MS and write them your own damn self. ;)

    (I miss you :()

But there was nothing in the update that should require "decoding" other than the Mod comings and goings. Everything else I stated was flat-out stated.

People may ask for *clarifications* on things (e.g. the Wise Q&A) but that was seeking further info, not clarification on stuff they were confused about in the update itself.

So Santa clarified the situation, by restating what was said before, without altering his position or even taking into account the opposing view and then finished the Q and A by saying he is logging off and will not be returning to read it again?

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I tell you again, as I said in the previous Mr P thread. He will demand full details eventually, and he would hand them to Lucasfilm on the least provocation. But don't worry, as before then he will probably shut 3SA down and start charging for access anyway.

Am I scaremongering? Wait and see.

Will you people consider the Arbor Day banner yet? I've been rallying for 3 years now.

You don't need modsquad approval to start a thread, you know.

It wasn't really that people didn't like the leap day banner idea, it was more that the idea kind of fell by the wayside what with the purges and all, or so I assume.

Ahhh! Did bane get deleted? It makes me look like I'm talking to myself.

What a shame. He really did some great work in these forums.

We are attempting to find someone literary to fill the Amphitheater Moderator position. Given that most of you (from your comments about the EU) wouldn't know a book if it bit you on the ass, this is proving harder than expected.

There must be someone who posts in the Amphitheater who could be a moderator. If not, I like to read books. :p ;)

    Anyways, interesting update. ;)

    dp4m,

Between your 'GI Joe' update and Genghis' response to DarthIgnant re: the Amphitheatre modship, this is the funniest mod squad update I've read in a long time, a very long time!

COBRA is evil. But cool in some ways.

Well any ways I will say only one thing about the Mr. Wise thing. Let's let it go. What's done is done. No much we can do. Other then try to move on. I have and so have others.

Will the new Amphitheatre moderator be announced anytime soon?

And what of the rules and conduct for the board?
I'm guessing I can send all questions to dehrian for now.. right?

Any questions can currently be directed to dehrian.

Moderator selection takes slightly longer these days with the new restrictions in place for new moderatos joining (e.g. agreeing to the new Admin rules, agreeing to submit their data,etc.)...

I thought we mentioned that last page, no?

The thing where new Mods have to agree in writing (e.g. PM) to the Admin Rules that Vertical and Philip came up with probably a year or more ago.
