"Fine. Can this be 'off the record', though? At most, I will be an 'anonymous source'. Okay?"

 

"i'm not going to argue with you about what is out of my league Wex. But anyways here's your keys." Spence slides the keys across the table to Wex.

 

"Very well, I don't want anyone to know about you helping us any more than you do. What I do want is all the information you have that can help us with this case. It is already a lot bigger than I originally thought. You said before that you dreamed about an eye right? Please continue..."

 

Moka says, "Come on guys, can't we all just be pals?"

"Okay, I dream that I am in a dark place, walking, alone, then there is this breathing on the back of my neck. I can't hear it, but I can feel it. I draw my gun and whip around, and then all I see are these eyes staring at me, and all around the eyes are darkness... I wake up in a panic. Sweaty. Freaked out.

I started having this dream shortly after I was working on the Lonely Hearts Killer case in California."

 

"Is there anything then that would explain why those two wackos in the coffee shop would say:

"Will he reveal us? This is bad. I thought you said he would keep his mouth shut."

"He will. What's he going to tell them, anyway? Nothing, that's what. There's nothing to tell, after all. Unless he want's to look nuts."

"All the same, I'll call in surveillance. Just in case. The balance must be kept."

"Yes yes the balance must be kept."

"Does any of that mean anything to you?"

 

OOG: Sorry, Thanksgiving and this week have been nuts, I will be posting today.

I pull out my Roomsweeper, Mossberg 500 sawed off riot shotgun, and clear the room.

 

He replies to you, Wex. "I admit, I've seen that guy before. I have confronted him, tried the whole intimidating cop thing, but it didn't work. He hasn't done anything that will allow me to legally do anything. He just seems to keep turning up, acting weird, saying stupid things to me and doing tricks. Thats why he said 'Hi' in the coffee shop. Now I just ignore him. I don't know what they meant by 'surveillance', or the 'balance'."

 

"So is that everything then? Anything else you're holding back from us? Where exactly did you run into the guy, and what were you doing each time?"

 

"When I first got transferred here, I ran into that guy at a Starbucks. We were at the counter where the stirring sticks are, and he looked at me and said the Prancing Pony over on Eastern and Silverado Ranch has waaaay better coffee, and that I should try it out. He said I would never go back to Starbucks. Then he walked out. I just thought he was some guy being friendly.

And he was right. the Prancing Pony does have better coffee, and I haven't been back to Starbucks. But I have seen that guy again, at the Prancing Pony, where he always says "Hi", and a couple places around town. Near my apartments, I saw him in traffic. I have seen him at the mall. I tried to approach him about his name, but he won't tell me. I figured he was kinda nuts. Then he started doing these little things, tricks, to freak me out. Like holding a lighter up to his hand for a few seconds. Like lifting up the bumper of a car that he is standing next to. Stuff that is not impossible, but must be some kind of trick. Once I saw him on the roof of the Prancing Pony, and he waved, and then jumped down.

So now, I am not surprised when I see him, I just say Hi or ignore him.

Oh yeah, and I think he wears makeup."

 

Sitting quietly throughout the whole mini interrogation being performed by Wex, thinking it better not to interrupt him when he was clearly in his element, Spence finds his voice. "You watched him jump off of the roof of the Prancing Pony? And he didn't sustain a single injury? Did you see how he landed? Did he land on his feet or did he hit and roll?"

OOG: About how high was the roof of the prancing pony?

 

OOG: the roof is 12 - 15 feet high, at least. You should go there sometime and have a cup of tea. Nice place.

"Well, he collapses his knees, pretty much went into a full deep squat when he landed, but then stood right back up, as if it were no big deal. I didn't see him up there, and after he had jumped he gave me a funny look, like he was surprised to see me see him do it. Then he smiled and walked off, apparently no worse for the wear."

 

"Well then, I would like to take another trip to the Prancing Pony. If you don't have anything else for us, I don't see any reason to take up more of your time. Thank you very much for cooperating. I would be a little bit careful now that they're watching you, whatever that means. Spence, Keela, you coming with me or want to stay here?"

 

Will says, "Well, I have some things I need to do, so I will talk to you guys later. Please let me know if you make any headway in this thing.


Keela says, "I will escort Mr. Stoekes out of here, make sure he gets to his vehicle okay. After that, I need to head over to the University and show my face, after all, they brought me to the States and I haven't been there hardly at all. I will catch up with you afterwards."

She and Will leave.

 

"Well I guess that just leaves us Wex. I'll come with you. Nothing else to do around the office...and I need to get a better look at the building. There's no way any normal person could drop off the top of a building and land in a squat without injuring themselves."

Spence gets up and leads the way towards the garage.

 

OOG: Ok, Keela and Will split, you guys get in your vehicles, and go back to the prancing pony. What do you want to do once you pull up?

 

After talking to the current, remaining players, this Modern Game in its current form will cease.

The game and story still exist, we will simply arrange times when we can play it live when our schedules and lives permit.

Oh, I forgot to tell you-

The doctor remove your blood splattered helmet and rush you to emergency surgery at Sunrise Hospital.

Several hours later, you regain consciousness, and stare into the eyes of a brown man who tells you his name is Dr. Singh.

"Spencer? My name is Dr. Singh. You are wery, wery luck to be alive. Only because of my genius and verld reknowned skill, you are vith us today. There is some bad news- you must either stay in this hospital bed and newwer leave, or leave and be confined to live games only. The choice is yours, what do you choose?"

 

does that mean that i have to give up the online star wars rpg as well???
