I'm really worried about this series. It looks good but the constant delays and being yoked to that stupid CBS app thing really have me concerned for its lifespan.

 

What have the Romans ever done for us?

The Klingons are weird.

I like the sets and uniforms--also really like the fact that we have a human who seems to aspire to following Vulcan philosophy, and has Sarek as a mentor. It's long been a desire of mine within Star Trek (all my STO characters did it) to have people who actually follow the religions/philosophies associated with other species (Sisko is an example within canon of course). The plot is still pretty undetermined, though--doing something with Klingons pre-TOS has a lot of potential, but the Klingons have been handled both really well and really badly before, and it's hard to know exactly what they're doing here yet.

The core of any Star Trek show, though, is in the characters and the writing--and that's very much in the doing, not the conception. For that I'll have to wait and see.

Still, it's nice to be talking about a Star Trek TV trailer. Damn.

 

So I've been negative about Star Trek Discovery up until now, with all the behind the scenes craziness going on. My main beef being that I wanted another show in the Prime universe set after Voyager, but after watching that trailer it is definitely looking far better than I was expecting. I'm actually pleasantly surprised!

 

I don't like the set of the spaceship's interior, feels to cold and dark to me and the bridge light, well...

Crewman: Any reason why we could not afford good light? I mean the ones we got are cool and dramatic and all but they do give me a headache and irritated eyes after a time

Regarding the uniforms so would I like them if it was not for the overall dark look of the new series, as for now do I find them to dark and would prefer something brighter.

 

We will not speak of it.

Have seen Kong: Skull Island and I am surprised I have not really heard much about it since it is really good and the after credits scenes

 

The Monsterverse so far is much better at making a combined universe than DC.

The marriage of giant film monsters and Vietnam War-era aesthetic and tech is like a match made in cinema heaven.

 

I would have seen Kong: Skull Island, but the bad guy monsters freaked me out in the trailer alone.
