    Quite frankly, I wouldn't pay to go see a fanfilm. and a 20 minute one at that. Maybe they should have screened it for free. Maybe the theater was making the money, not the film... anyway, just guessing...

    Does it 'hit the local theaters' or is it just being shown at one cinema? Dark Skies 'hit a local theater' but admission was free.

    I'm sure it is the same with BA. You can't make money out of these things, that obviously includes sales of DVD's videos, cinema tickets etc.

    Yes it will cost you money, and yes you will be totally out of pocket for it.

    We had to pay for the hire of the cinema, projector, staff etc. It was about £250 as I recall. It's cool to do though, and much better than having endless people 'around your house' to watch the dang thing over and over. Get them all in the same place, and show them all at once, and spare yourself from those endless viewings...

    The entire fanfilm making hobby is stupid if you are in it for the money Knight.

    Totally and utterly stupid in fact, so I agree with you there. However luckily that's not actually what we make them for, so we're fine.

    Knight123 .... are you completely NOT LISTENING or something?

    You CANNOT make money from a FanFilm - PERIOD - END OF STORY.

    Okay, now break out your Webster's Dictionary, because there are a couple of words you need to look up:
    * COPYRIGHT
    * HOBBY

    So DO NOT come here, as a fresh out-of-the-box newbie, and virtually call all of the great FanFilmmakers who have come before you "stupid" for having a passion for their craft and hobby. Who are you to say something like that?

    And Lyrael .... that was a contest endorsed by Lucas himself.
    There is a HUGE difference between earning profits from your film, and winning contest money.

    I'm sure I?m not the only person out here who wants to pursue films as a career. I'm working on a couple scripts now, but I?m doing my fan film first to gain some experience that I can apply later on. After our fan film is complete I?ll already have the necessary equipment to continue shooting other films.

    bottom line____________________________

    FAN FILMS ARE FOR FUN, NOT PROFIT!

    I'm sure that the charities that received over two thousand pounds from the donations of people who went to our last fanfilm premiere don't think we're stupid [face_plain]

    BTW Nice Edit Lord_Homer. You saved yourself a faceful of fish there!
