Just wanted to give everybody a heads up on the June podcast.. Tim dint make a public one this month because it is all of us just talking about CIV and their wasnt that much reverent content . Back in July with a regular cast.

 

Just a FYI to everybody, I'm looking at possibly switching where the podcast is currently being hosted so you may see issues if you go directly to http://podcast.hoosieralliance.com (I'm changing where said address points and am going to see how a WordPress backend works). If you are currently subscribed to the podcast via iTunes or something else you won't need to do anything unless I actually perform the switch. If you use the link on our website it is pointing to the right place, so no worries there.

I'll keep everybody updated.

Just a note to say that the podcast for the July meeting will be coming shortly; I just have to find the time to do it which should be within the next day or so. A busy weekend has led into a busy week.

I've heard a report or two that people had a hard time hearing what was going on in the podcast, and that only a couple people were really audible. To see if it's the microphone or the software, I've re-encoded the podcast and put a second version of it up. Please download and try it if you had trouble listening to the first one and let me know the results.

Iv got some pretty exciting news for you all. Tim and I are going to have a interview with Writer & Director, Cris Macht of The Force Amung Us this Saturday afternoon. Tim will post it up as a "MicroCast" . I would for everybody that can, listen to it so we can talk about it at the Sept meeting. This is going to be fun!

Tim and I are trying to figure out a cost efficient way to get a better podcast for you guys.

 

November's podcast is now available. Sorry for the delay, had to work out getting the file from Auston (and thank you Auston for recording it!) and publishing it on a Thanksgiving weekend with 4 family gatherings. Gotta love having a newborn everybody wants to see.

Eric... Don't mean to stir the pot or completely change the subject topic, but I'm with you on the movie downloads thing!

I think it will eventually happen, but not anytime soon. At this point, I just don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth when I download a movie. Plus, you don't get extra features and the video and audio are always compressed. By what I've seen, downloadable HD movies look about the same quality as the compressed Comcast HD channels... nothing close to a raw Blu-ray disc.

On the other hand, I pretty much felt the same way about music CDs before MP3s were prominent, and I haven't purchased a physical CD in YEARS. Ten years ago, I never would've thought I'd be perfectly happy downloading all my music.

What FOX did with the Family Guy Blue Harvest DVD is a great alternative. Provide a file of the movie to put on your portable device. It's a good step toward the end of movie companies punishing its customers while they fruitlessly try to combat piracy. Great idea.
