ST Montross, the old cyborg has SW history

So, Montross as seen in today's leak. The old man cyborg... In early ANH drafts... he was an old cyborg friendly with Han Solo... he also became an imperial in other drafts... thing is, he's been around SW quite a bit. Looks like he's being re-used... Lucas' idea?
