Ladies and Gentlebeings, the old pier as I?m sure you will all be aggrieved to hear is falling into disrepair. On the surface, all seems well, but underneath the pier the pylons are rotten and the metal framework is rusty and broken. What can we do about it you may well ask? Well to tell you the truth im not entirly sure myself, all i know is that something MUST be done soon, i think. Any comments, suggestions or support would be most welcome.

I thought you meant that weird little pier on South-Gate that is like two metres long.

It is a pier, made of wood, wood carved from the northern mountanous peeks of Russia, chopped by his Lord, Dave Forster.

Appart from that last bit about Russia and dave forster, the rest i said was true. The wood is getting old and it's a real shame. Sheck_Exley and I were there this afternoon and we've come to the conclusion that something needs to be done. It's conviently located in a place called Mornington, Darth, so if you're in the vicinty dive in the water and give the old pier a shake...you'll get a shock, i assure you! You know where mornington is, don't you?

I assume it's on the Mornington Peninsula.

Its a real shame, because the diving under the pier is spectacular, and the marine life is unrivaled at any other pier in the bay.

Didn't you just love Mornington, Gatherer?

It's a great place, but become somewhat commercialised...there's a huge shopping centre there now, have you seen it?

The shopping center is beside the point, although i was pleased that the moving of coles to the new location allowed one of our very own Aussie Bi Lo stores to spring up

    Indeed.

But it's getting excessively loud, don't you think?

The pier or the shopping centre, or would you be referring to the P platers driving up and down Main St with the "windows down and the system up"?

Well to be frank - top bloke, you met his brother quite? quite frank they call him - which is a great thing to be, Russians, and wood, are bloody terrific!

TO sum up, one must understand the nature of the Lords, the triumvirate of holy words, in [pompous tone] Lorrrdd Bolt[/bow to below waist], Lord Dave 'chopping' Forster, and Lord Huggard (THE God).

What does this have to do with the Mornington Pier? Not a bloody lot, I assure you, but to be frank - that guy again, what a top bloke! - The state of this cultural and social icon is really depressing.

One can't help but wonder what the kids - the kiddies - the younger set, would get up to of a hot bloody saturday if they could no longer go to the pier and have a bloody dip?

The answer is simple I think, and J.E. and I have talked about it before.

    They'll turn to Gambling.

Which is bloody great! Think of the tax!

    That's it, I'm outta here...

I agree, something MUST be done about it if we are to save our Mornington peers.

...What's that? Mornington PIER? Oh, bugger off, I don't care about that.

    :p
