Oceania Most asinine Star Wars "Controversy"

Well, in this world we have people who are, frankly, obtuse. Ham-fisted cretins, they would rather bleat about percieved injustice than make a valuable contribution to society, such as not having children or sucking tailpipes.

When TPM came out, they said Jar Jar was a racist dig at blacks in America. When AotC came out, they said the clones looked Mexican and thus the film was racist, preying upon white America's "fear" of a Mexican invasion (ironically, assuming all people of that complexion were latino is in itself, racist). Now, they're saying that RotS is a dig at Bush and the War on Terra.

So, which of these pathetic tirades has caused you no end of amusment? Which of these groups of people have you wanted to throttle, screaming "It's a movie you hippie **** shut up!"?

Lucas has said that Rots is a dig at Bush. So I'm not sure if that's really a controversy. I've seen a few places call for a boycott... it'd be interesting if that picked up. I'd like it more!

I always loved the TPM controversy over the Nimoidians sounding Asian. But you can't beat the Morrison thing in AOTC! He's a New Zealander and they're all up in arms about him being a Mexican. Classic stupidity!!!

The people who do nothing but whine about the percieved messages in films that seemingly only they can see, would be better served not pointing these things out and therefore giving this non-existant message widespread publicity.

 

I think Sith Magician deserves an award for the best description of A New Hope in 50 words or less.

No really, Nubia was the land south of Egypt in Pharonic time, particuarly the New Knigdom (think Ramses II, Tutankhamon, Hatchepsut). They were generally dark skinned though there were a few Nubian Pharaohs.
