for me it's got to be our loss to Texas A&M (the damn Aggies) in the Big 12 title which ruined our national champiosnhip dreams

1997, game seven of the World Series.

I doubt anything will ever top the heartbreak of that game.

Super Bowl XXXII. The Packers thought they were Lombardi-like and Denver just kicked their ass. Looking back though, what a football game with 2 of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play.

    Eww, don't remind me! :_|

4th & 26 was on my birthday. And Eagles fans, we've hated T.O. longer than you have. :p

The sweep by the Pistons when we had the Big Four (Shaq, Kobe, Payton and Malone).

Also, come to think of it, our previous playoff loss to the Pistons, back in 1989, when Magic pulled up lame.

    Hmm...

either: Game 6 of the 2002 World Series

    or

    Cal vs. Oregon St., 2007

    or

    Cal vs. U$C, 2006

And that's just the first few that come to mind for me...

Sorry, no. It was the 98 Wild Card game against the Pack that created T.O. He had a horrible game that day, and if he drops that TD pass, I think he fades away into obscurity. It was almost a year before I could even watch highlights of that game.

I was barely nine years old, and I cried. Easily the hardest loss that I've endured since then.

The Penn State-Michigan game from 2005 was also extremely upsetting. We could have gone undefeated (and had another reason to throw the BCS out the window).

I was referring to the wild card game about T.O. I even remember ex-Packer Gabe Wilkins cheap shot on Favre earlier in that game.

Yeah, the Packers created T.O. in that game, so there is no way Eagles fans hated him longer. Before the TD catch to win that game, he was the 49ers number 3 receiver, behind JJ Stokes. He was just an up and coming talent. In that game, he dropped at least 4 big passes, including an earlier TD, that landed right in both hands before he dropped it. He was destined to be a quiet number 3, who would fade away into obscurity. Then Darren Sharper gave him too much cushion at the goal line, and for once he actually held onto a pass. After that, T.O was born.

The Miami-Ohio State national championship game, I don't remember which year. Miami had it won, then the refs made that stupid call which lo-and-behold let Ohio State win the game. It was so freakin' obvious too!

And yes, I am still somewhat bitter about the screwjob. Kinda obvious, huh? ;)

In any case, Florida stomping Ohio State in last year's title game sort of made up for it; the "mighty Buckeyes" found out one of the reasons why many consider the SEC to be the toughest conference in the country. :p

Pretty much every time England goes out of a WC or Euro on penalties.

Blazers vs Lakers in the 2000 Western Conference Finals. The Blazers were up by around 15 in the fourth quarter of game 7, and then the Lakers came back to win the game and eventually the championship.

    *sigh*

Euro 1996, England played some great football with wins over Spain, Scotland and the rout of Holland. Semi-Final against Germany was a superb game and we had the chances to kill the game off in Extra time. Unfortunately Gareth Southgate missed the penalty to send us out. I'm quite sure we'd have beaten the Czechs in the Final. :(

Italia '90 was equally bad, but as I was only 5 years old, I only remember bits of it.
