2001 NHL Western Conference Finals (first time I ever seriously thought the Blues might win a Cup)
Super Bowl XXXVI (end of a Rams dynasty chance and start of the *ugh* Patriots/Belicheat dynasty)
2002 NLCS (mostly due to the emotion of losing Jack Buck and Darryl Kile earlier that year)
2004 World Series (Because we were a far better team than the sweep showed)
2005 NLCS (Worst way to close old Busch=Astros celebrating a pennant on our field)

A new one for me tonight, with my high school alma mater losing 21-14 to one of the top-ranked teams in the country, in the second round of the 5A-I football playoffs here. My school was a big underdog, and Hamilton has won three of the last four state championships (they blew away the longtime kings of the hill in the title game last year, itself a crosstown rival for my school). My school played Hamilton tough the entire way, losing on a touchdown reception by Hamilton's best and most athletic player (on 3rd and 18, with just over a minute to play in the 4th quarter).

I'll forever remember my school's second touchdown of the game, which came on a 4th down pass into the end zone early in the 4th quarter. Our side erupted, and even though the Warriors lost, I'll take moments like that with me for a long time.

So close to a huge upset, but it wasn't meant to be.

I was at that one [face_mischief]. And happily on the Angels bandwagon. What can I say, I really don't care that much about baseball.

but that didn't destroy the Colts season. If it was the playoffs or cost them a playoff spot.

Umm...what?!?! Have you seen the Colts lately? They didn't have all of these injuries (cept Harrison) until after they played the Pats either.

    1995.

Undefeated Ohio State went to the Big House ranked #2 in the country.

Tshimanga Biakabutuka rushes for 313 yards

Heisman trophy winner Eddie George is outshined by the other team's running back.

Top five NFL Draft picks Orlando Pace and Shawn Springs are helpless to help Ohio State play for a National Title.

    Michigan 31, Ohio State 23

Northwestern sent to Pasadena instead of the Buckeyes, who instead went to the Citrus Bowl, where John Cooper lost another Bowl Game.

    That's a crushing loss.

The loss to Florida last year was embarassing and painful. But not nearly as crushing as getting thwumped by Michigan despite the presence of George, Pace, Springs, and others.

All of the Denver Broncos Superbowl losses in the Elway era.

Four straight Superbowl losses by Buffalo.

Notre Dame losing to Boston College in the last game of the 1993 season in NCAA football.

Any Colts playoff loss to New England in NFL football.

The Stealers beating the Bengals in the 2006 NFL postseason only because a Stealers player rolled over Carson Palmers leg.

Eagles losing to Patriots in Superbowl.

Panthers losing to Patriots in Superbowl.

The Cubs loss to Florida in the 2003 MLB postseason.

Honorable mention: Any time the Yankees win the World Series.
