Most emotional SW theme yet?

Yes, good old Ludwig van wrote a few pieces I'd say are more beautiful than ATS.

 

Yeah. I love ATS as much as the next guy but wow... I cannot give it that. It's like that thread in the Amph... the Beatles are forever the greatest musical force of all time. Errr no. I love em. Greatest rock music force of all time? Yes. Beethoven was, IMHO, the greatest musical mind to walk this earth. That we have any record of.

 

It would have to be The Force Theme, with Across the Stars coming in a close second.

Beside Beethoven´s symphonies, as far as classical music is concerned, my favorites are:

- "Unfinished" (Schubert)
- Requiem by Mozart
- Peer Gynt Suite (Grieg)
- "New World" (Dvorak)
- "Toccata and Fugue" (Bach)
- "Fireworks Music" (Haendel)
- "Thus spoke Zarathustra" (R.Strauss)

Well, we have a "most beautiful" thread; this one sparked a lot of discussion.

 

The most emotional peice is the final duel between Luke and DV in ROTJ!!!

 

Ah yes. The Vader Luke final Duel.
That was beutiful!

But Across the Stars is the best

 

I can't pin a theme as being most emotional, there are many that do that.

The cue that stands out in my mind the most, though, is the whole thing of Yoda's death. There's the peace of accepting death, the angst of Vader revelations, the soaring of Yoda's last admonitions to Luke, and the loss itself. Talk about rollercoaster.

 

Definatley for me the end theme of AOTC #13 the first like three minutes or so of it before the wedding part. It brings many tears to my eyes, it reminds me of Star Wars and the fact that its a fictional place sinse I wish I could live in the Star Wars Galaxy.

 

That's not a theme, it's a cue.

The most emotional Star Wars theme, for me, is definitely the Force theme, followed by the oft-forgotten Luke's theme.

Gotta be the Force Theme, particularly during Binary Sunset. It's so hugely emotional there..first the lone horn winding up, and then the strings come in, and it's utterly beautiful and emotional and so perfect....

 

Most emotional Themes:

1. The Force Theme - because it has been used to cover so many emotions in the films.

2. Accross The Stars - Probably the most beautiful movie love theme ever written

3. Luke and Leia - This is the absolute most underrated theme in the SW saga. Just beautiful.

4. Han and Leia - Another brilliant one.

5. ROTJ:SE Ending/Celebration Music - This was such an improvement over Yub Yub

But... hands down the best moment in any SW music is the last part of the ESB:SE soundtrack around the 6:00 minute mark of the end credits. It's the section that was used at the end of TPM trailer and also in the SE trailers. It gives your goosebumps, goosebumps.

 

I've got three:

1)Across The Stars!

2)Binary Sunset!

3)Duel Of The Fates!


They're three damn cool tracks!

 

Has anyone mentioned the Emperors theme? I've always liked this one. If you watch the scene in AOTC when Anakin is telling Padme about the Sandpeople, this theme comes in and just makes it very powerful. One of the best uses of music in Ep2 (Although you have to listen closely).

Overall, the Force Theme would have to rank #1. Especially its use when Vader grabs the Emperor in RoTJ. Followed closely by Han and Leia's theme which is used in so many different ways in the last half of ESB.

After those two, put the following in any order:
Emperor's Theme
Yoda's Theme
Darth Vader's Theme (Imperial March) - especially when Vader starts hurling things at Luke by the big window.

 

"Star Wars Main Title" is the most emotional theme, there is no doubt. I don't know why I didn't realize this until so recently.

 

Here are my choices:

Best "Hyped-Up fighting" emotion: Battle in the Snow from ESB

Best "Swelling Heart/Tear in the Eye" emotion: Luke and Leia from ROTJ (I know others will say Across the Stars on this one but L&L has always held a special place in my heart )

Best "Swelling Heart/Tear in the Eye" emotion Part 2 (hehe): the NEW music for the ending of ROTJ. For some reason it makes me cry every time, especially when Anakin appears next to Obi-Wan and Yoda.

Best "Scary/Dramatic" emotion: ROTJ final duel or Duel of the Fates

 

My appreciation for The Dark Side Beckons grows with each day. IMO, this is the most emotional theme yet. I can easily see this as the theme music for the entire saga at this point..

 

Well, The Dark Side Beckons technically not a theme. We don't hear it anywhere except the ROTJ final duel. It is simply an amazing piece of non-thematic score.

 

OK, my apologies...but I still believe The Dark Side Beckons to be an offshoot of the Emperor's Theme, so it counts.

 

I sometimes get something in my eye during Qui-Gon's Funeral.

 

The Throne Room. Holy fripe. That embodies Star Wars, to me.

Also, Anakin's Theme, and Luke & Leia.

They conjure up all the feelings I have for Star Wars at once whenever I listen to them.

 

Duel of the Fates

and...

The last one before the credits from The Empire Strikes Back: The Rebel Fleet or something...

 

Indeed, "The Rebel Fleet" begins with an emotional Force Theme.

 

... And ends with a wonderful Han & Leia Theme. It's just excellent.
