Darth Maul was very overrated. He looked cool and wielded a double bladed lightsaber. He had some bad*** moves, but he ended up getting killed before the first movie was over, excluding his appearance in the Clone Wars cartoon.

Obi-wan for failing to kill Vader. His emotions got the better of him, which he lectures Luke about in RoTJ.

2006 General Grevious. Seriouslly there are people who consider him to be the only legitimate presentation of the character and go on about how Lucas ruined him(funny because he was George Lucas idea originally but all aboard the hate train I guess).

I personally would have like the series to dwell into his origin given that GG origin in the EU is one of the best in the entire star wars universe. He is actually an even bigger victim of manipulation then Vader/Anakin. Although given that he was supposed to mirror Vader being a cyborg general and all that was probably the intention.

 

People are allowed to consider whatever take on a character valid they like sir. To date I only accept Sir as Tarkin and that isn't wrong nor is people only liking one GG or anyone else.

 

But don't you think that saying that Lucas having ruined him is kinda wrong given that the character was his idea originally?

 

Not really, no. People are allowed their perceptions. One can respect someone and or their work very highly indeed yet still have strong differences of view on certain aspects pertaining to said person and/or their work. A personal example of mine would be Jeremy Irons. It isn't required that one agree with absolutely everything pertaining to something to respect or enjoy it.
