Most Overrated SW Movie?

ESB, I found it pretty boring aside from the opening and ending sequences and the scenes with Yoda.

 

ANH...

ESB can't be overrated since it is the best SW movie.

Because ANH is the best with ESB close behind.

 

Perhaps you don't understand the definition of OVERRRATED.

Many people didn't like AOTC, and it will be the lowest grossing film of the series (adjusted).

Something that is generally disliked cannot be, by definition, overrated.

 

I thought that most did like it at least thats what I got from the JC.

Most people in the JC are saying its the best since ESB.

 

I like ESB, but I still find it overrated. People act like it's some sacred piece of high literature, as opposed to a good adventure movie. It's my favorite, but I have a sense of perspective; I can see its faults as well as its good points. I get the impression from many people that it is absolutely perfect, and to say anything bad about it would be blasphemy.

 

ESB. I like it and all, but liking the film for some people seems to be just another way to covertly insult the series by mentioning that "Lucas had the least to do with it and that's why it's the best."

That's the very same reason the film seems more like an anomaly to me. There's very little actual "war" to be had considering the film's title, and the majority of it's characters are human and/or humanoid, meaning the film's galactic view is pretty narrow compared to the others.

The dialouge is the best of them all though.

 

ANH is overrated

 

As good as it is, I always thought ESB was the most overrated of the sw films.

 

ANH: no Yoda, no Emperor, one crappy lightsaber fight, Vader getting ordered around by Tarkin (like a chihuahua ordering a bulldog around)

I dunno why, but I have always held the view that ESB is the best Star Wars movie, but after seeing AOTC, I find ESB boring.

It is very overrated. It has no beginning or ending.

 

Of course it doesn't! Its the middle of the OT. Just like AOTC.

ANH is the best and ESB is not overrated.

I didn't "feel it" when I saw 'Clones as I did with every other Star Wars film. Plus...the title...

They could have done better.

TPM or AOTC.

TPM was a mediocre film with a compelling plot. AOTC was a compelling film with a mediocre plot.

ESB is not overrated. It has the most mysticism and character development in the saga, as well as the most pivotal scene to date.

 

TESB. It´s not better than the others, as almost everyone seems to think.
The whole saga is equally wonderful!

 

AOTC (right now) because EVERYONE thinks it's better then all the others. But for me I like TPM and all the classic trilogy.

 

I like ESB but I think it's overrated due to the fact that some fans treat it like it's the holy grail.

Look at how much of the film is about the imperials chasing Han & Leia. ESB has good character development and a memorable ending but it has its share of flaws as well.

 

The thing is, though, that ESB really is that great... there's the chemistry between Leia and Han and Vader's whole trap for Luke... the plot is brilliant. It is a great film, making it certainly NOT overrated.

AOTC... I liked it a lot, but right now it is a bit overrated... people are saying that it's the best by far, etc... this will probably change over time though.

 

I think AOTC is overrated. It was decent, but the dialogue was awful, the effects overdone and the character development pretty flat.

And to those who thought ANH was overrated: Realize that Lucas made it on a limited budget and schedule. He couldn't do the special effects and stuff that he did to the prequel trilogy, or even the rest of the OT, because he didn't have money or time. But he also was trying to make the effects the best he could. Imagine being in 1977 and seeing Star Wars, compared to any other film in the same genre before ANH. The special effects were considered awesome at the time. So ease up on the OT for it's special effects, since they had some of the best effects of their time.

AOTC, a lot of people are calling it the best film of the saga, though I don't see why; personally I think it's the worst one so far.

 

Episode 3 is the most overrated. It doesn't even exist and we sit here arguing about it 4ever. way overrated.
