Well, there is a great thread of most over rated one. Why not an under rated one? Which one do you think is the most under rated so far? I think AOTC is under rated.

Most Underrated? Return of the Jedi. No Contest. Geez if I have to hear about the whole "shoulda been a wookie planet instead of endor" thing, I swear I'll lose it.

I don't think AOTC is underrated.

Many fans have enjoyed this movie and it has gained a lot of success.

For me, I'll go for ANH as being underrated. It is a great movie and sets up the Star Wars Saga nicely.

I don't think some fans appreciate it enough... After all, if that hadn't done so well, who knows what we would be spending our time doing at this very moment? :p

None of the movies are underrated or overrated. They're all great.

I like TPM, and i think in a lot of ways it gets a bad rep, but I can see why a lot of people didn't like it. I've got to stick with ROTJ. I think it gets knocked more, for worse reasons.

I'm a TPM gusher and while there are things I dislike about this film (namely Jar Jar Binks IS pretty annoying, to me at least) I still feel bad when people diss everything about this movie. I love it, I love watching it, I think it's really great and does not deserve all the bashing and thrashing it gets.

TMP has a character we all grow to love and near the end he gets stabbed :_|, Qui-Gon! I cried at that part until the movie was over.

I feel that since TPM has so many mercurial elements to it that are new to the star wars universe (slapstick comic relief, massive use of CGI, an overly political script), negitive reactions to it, even if I disagree with them, should be expected.

But when it comes to ROTJ, I haven't yet heard one reason as to why it's such a dissapointment that holds any weight in my book. Well...maybe one or two.

    TPM is vastly underrated

Only way I can think of how people bashed is to state how Obi-Wan said this in AOTC, "Be mindful of your thoughts, you're focusing on the negative."

That's all that people seem to focus on TPM, why not focus about how it recreated magic? Hmmmm.

I agree completly. Roger Ebert's Review of TPM was a textbook example of someome looking at the positive of the film, as opposed to what a lot of people percieved as negatives.

Too bad he didnt feel the same way about ATOC.

Definately TPM. I believe it deserves more credit and reconition, if not for the film itself, at least for it's technological achievements in computer animation and minature set work.

After what I have heard, if Episode 3 is rated PG it will be the most under rated SW movie.

Lets just think about this whole Episode 3 thing for a moment.

I agree with Fett, it has the potential to be extremely underrated.

Fans were expecting a lot for TPM.

Fans are expecting a lot with Episode 3.

    Notice a connection?

If Episode 3 doesn't pan out like some fans want it too, well....

ROTJ. I still don't understand why so many people pan that movie.

Everyone says Tpm is the worst star wars film but that clearly is not the case. It was an improvement over Rotj and despite its flaws( Jar Jar and a pod race that went on way too long) it was a rather an enjoyable film

I was going to say The Phantom Menace - but now that I think about it I'm going to have to go with A New Hope. No one really says anything about this movie: good or bad. It's kind of like the "lost cousin" of the Star Wars films. :(

I don't think TPM was that bad at all. I think people rip it up too much.
