Saga Most Underrated Star Wars Character

Definitely Count Dooku.

Even the folks over at Lucasfilm apparently forgot he existed!

The MOST underrated? If I ever read the EU, it's be the most obscure character that I could find, most likely only ever mentioned only once or twice.. But as I haven't , the UNDERrated character ever... ... methinks... ehh... mmm... I KNOW! I think... Shmi Skywalker. Or... Assaj Ventress. And... Padme's sister. Why wasn't Luke placed with them (Padme's sisters family) in the first place, anyway? If they wan to hide him in plain sight, but still somewhat obscurely hidden, then it would be the ideal place...

 

Lando all the way. This is a character who accomplished so much in the movies yet he doesn't get any credit for it. OT characters like Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca are awesome but Lando needs to be up there too.

 

Lando is one of my favorites. Great laugh.

 

No - he was all but invisible in ROTJ, and as Robot Chicken put it, he got an action figure anyway. Most kids who owned the action figure (myself included) assumed he was yet another barely-glimpsed creature from Jabba's Palace, not a Rebel.



Not under-rated, not over-rated, he's just... Prune Face.

 

Indeed I thought he was a minion of Jabba, even after noticing him in RotJ years later I was convinced he was a Jabba character and a must be a spy, as that's how I used his figure.

 

Bail Organa. Though he had not enough screen time in the saga, what little time he had was enough to make him shine. He is sharp. He was amongst the first to suspect Palpatine's intentions in the would-be Rebel Alliance members and to call for a plan of action to save democracy when even Padmé was all 'He was my mentor when I was Queen, he can't be that bad'(from the deleted scenes of ROTS). For a politician he has a rare bravery and inclination to be helpful-he was the only one who actually went down at the Temple when it was on fire to see what was going on & what he could do to help. He more or less openly helped the Jedi after Order66-he drove a public enemy like Yoda after his defeat of the Emperor and went on to build the Rebellion. He still managed to be smart and remain an alive leader for his planet for 19 years later. To me that demonstrates courage, integrity, sharp intelligence and initiative. One of the few politicians in the saga I deeply respect.

Perhaps Bail Organa. Also, I think Mon Mothma might be. She only gets that one scene in Jedi. Her scenes were cut from Revenge of the Sith. Since she helps organize the Rebellion and is its main civilian leader, she should have gotten more attention in the films.

 

I didn't even know that guy existed, until the higher resolution of the Blu-ray version made him much more clearly visible in the background.

 

I'm not gonna count background characters, only ones who had a significant effect on the story yet are still often overlooked. In that respect I've gotta say Watto all the way. His character was awesomely sleazy, very funny and one of the best additions to the Star Wars universe.

Outside of that I hate to say it but Lando. The f`act even those most ignorant of Star Wars can name at least Han, Luke, Leia, R2, 3PO and Vader yet look puzzled when mentioning Lando speaks volumes at how he's never really been marketed as one of the main cast. It's a shame. In Jedi he's right up there with the others throughout.
