Considering the amount of text they had in ROTJ, I would have expected an Ackbar-novel first (especially since such a novel wouldn't be limited to politics. While I like a good political SW-novel I know it is not everyones cup of tea.

Bel Iblis, that's it. We need a novel about Garm Bel Iblis.)

 

We'd need Bel Iblis to canonically exist to begin with.

 

His being mentioned in the ROTS novel, while a good start, isn't really enough. I recall a green-robed human senator occasionally being seen in conversation with Padme or Mon Mothma or Bail in TCW - maybe a new TCW Character Encyclopaedia could canonise that as being him, and resurrect some of his EU backstory?

You know you are having problems with a universe when the April Fool's Jokes are the stuff you actually want to see.

If not Bel Iblis, we at least need to know the canonical leader of the Corellian Resistance. Assuming, of course, Corellia is still considered a Rebel Founder. I rather hope it is.

Nope. Don't think there is anything wrong with the universe. We have movies every year. TV shows. Books. Comics. The NEU is a blast. I know it still isn't close to the size that the old EU was but I think it is growing a lot more rapidly than the EU did. It very well might have the same amount of content that the EU did in half the time.

 

God, I hope not. Content =/= quality.

True. However I have a feeling there will indeed be more structure this time around than there was before.

Zeta1127 you don't have to drink any blue milk to realize this is the greatest time to be a Star Wars fan. The latest movies still isn't even completely out of theaters yet and we are getting trailers for the next movie coming up. The tv show just had a big season finale and a lot of folks are excited for season 3. Plus we had a brand new comic released this past week that was really enjoyable plus we get two more comics released next week.

 

Zeta, you've heard of the "Bring Back Legends" movement, right? Folks who hate the new canon and everything associated with it? I and jammin may not agree with you, but you're not alone.

 

Who needs structure? If anything, a lack of structure is what made the EU great. Structure is what led them to abandon the past 30 years of Star Wars, just because the film and television people apparently don't want to tell stories in that universe.

Where is the greatness, because I am sure not seeing it? Films and television have destroyed the universe for me.

I am not one of those people, because they give fans of the EU a bad name. And besides, most of the people who seem to want the EU back are primarily interested in the post-NJO, which I don't want.
