When i was younger, i used to associate Star Wars with Mountain Dew. Probably because whenever i watched Star Wars, i had pop, and it was mostly Mountain Dew.

Anybody eles when they think of Star Wars think of things they associated it with?

Where are you from? I'm from Michigan and as far as I know, only we call soda POP. And no, I don't have an association. Maybe you think Mountain Dew because Yoda and MD are green?

I think I figured out why so many Sci-fi geeks like Mountain Dew: It's not like we have a need for sperm count anyway!

Yes, a very entertaining set of movies.

BTW, in Minnesota the majority of people also refer to soda as POP.

    (Thought provoking thread)

I associate Star Wars and Doritos, because when I was younger they used to put those cool Star Wars pogs in bags of Doritos

p.s. All soft drinks are known as "coke"

Star Wars is addictive and I think about it every day- Mountain Dew is addictive and I drink it every day (but only in bottles- it's the canned ones you gotta owrry about, Bib!) [face_batting]

Besides, it's better than coffee ::)

I've lived in Michigan (where I grew up), Kentucky (spent 14 years there...too long, lol) and I now live in Ohio...in all three places it was called POP!!!!!!!

    I get the duracell reference.

I have to agree with the poster who said they associate Star Wars with a group of movies they like :D

Unfortunately I associate Star Wars with Pepsi, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell.

Remember those awful commercials in 1999? Colonel Sanders and the Pizza Hut girl waving those lightsabers? Talk about diminishing the Force!

What is this 'pop' and 'soda' you speak of?

    They're 'soft drinks'. :p

(I love intellectual conversation such as this.. [face_mischief])

And if we're talking about associating SW with pop culture.. well, I have a SW cup and a Han in Carbonite figurine from Pizza Hut... [face_laugh]

It's "pop" in Wyoming too, if anyone cares about a state that hasn't even earned its one representative in the House...

I can't say that I have any real Star Wars associations.

Actually, I found the one commercial where they're fighting a Battle of Naboo-like conflict to be pretty good- in a way, even better than the BoN from the film itself, since the use of the STAPs and actual humans brought a much more frenzied and "real" threat to the battle (overlooking that you're routing for a chicken-eating confederate, a girl who shows her part time job way to much dedication and a talking dog...).

Actually, to those who got the Duracell reference, you get 2 thumbs up, considering I screwed up.

    It was Energizer batteries! [face_laugh]

The best commercial was when the dog stole the AAT and said "Hey, look what I found!"
