Friday I can make, at least at the start - I have to work a debate tournament the next day. Saturday would work better for me, as I only have commitments earlier in the day.

So, who went to see it? The Trek group went Sun afternoon at the Waterfront. Wasn't really my type of movie but I figured I'd go with the group.

I didn't know this until recently, but many of the Carmike theaters in the area have digital projection. You can see what moveis are playing in digital by looking at the show times for local Carmike theaters on fandango. I have to think that you would see a significant difference by watching Speed Racer in digital, since there is so much CGI type stuff in there.

I've read about the Digital Cinema Projection system. I wonder what the file size and format on the movie files are?

Just think of a place like the Lowes Waterfront Theater with all the movies stored digitally on a central server. How long do you think it will be before that's hacked? [face_laugh]

I can't do either. I've had a bad cold all week. I don't see it going away soon.

Depending on how things turn out, I may end up running into some of you tonight. A friend of mine and I are going to see both the Hulk and the Happening (8 PM Hulk; 10:30 PM Happening).

I liked the Happening. Yeah, as an M.Knight Shaymalan flick , it wasn't as good as Sixth Sense or the Village. But for a pandemic, everyone mysteriously dying flim, it was entertaining.

The Hulk was alot better than I imagined. Ed Norton is a brilliant actor who in my opinion turned a very crappy movie and storyline into something that can be appreciated. The happening was awesome until the cheese at the end. Damn you Emright Shamalangadingdon. Perfest endingings are for disney.Grow a pair.

I just watch The Happening tonight. I won't comment on the ending but I liked it more than I didn't. M. Knight is a great director.

I still need to watch Lady in the Water, but I think I would rank his movies in this order:

    1. Unbreakable
    2. Signs
    3. The Happening
    4. The Village
    5. The Sixth Sense

It's funny becasue I think many people would have the top and bottom reversed, with The Sixth Sense on top and Unbreakable on the bottom. Go figure.

...still waiting for the Unbreakable sequel.

I didn't realize Unbreakable was a M.Knight movie. Really enjoyed it, and not just because it had Sam Jackson and comic books in it.

I thought The Happening was entertaining.

I liked Unbreakable and The Village. I finally got to see The Happening and boy was I disappointed. I?m really getting sick of movies and TV pushing the environmental issue down my throat. Maybe at another time this would have been an interesting topic but the issue has been beat to death. To see what could have been a good movie take this overused route just made me angry.

Going to Dark Knight this friday 7pm @ Loews and maybe catch something to eat afterwards. I'm pretty sure it's going to sell out so I'm going to try to get advanced tickets. Anyone interested?
