It wasn't bad. I couldn't help but think that part of the film was Metroid fighting Jack-Jack.
So who is planning to hit the Firehouse Lounge tomorrow night?
Star Wars at Firehouse Lounge?
I'd hit it!
That's at least three of us then.
Where is the Firehouse Lounge?
sigh. I'm getting too old for this. I don't think I'm up to another late night, especially on a work night. Even to go see Qui.
Strip District. Around 24th and Penn or so. They have a website that has the actual address (the link is earlier in the thread).
2216 PENN AVENUE
PITTSBURGH, PA 15222
(On Penn avenue in the strip district between 22nd and 23rd streets.)
Are folks interested in eating at the Firehouse Lounge, or somewhere else (e.g., Kaya - a personal favorite of mine two blocks away)?
Sounds good. (I <3 the Strip!)
And as long as I can get a ride, I'm there. (Probably the 17th would be good for me)
I'm planning to eat at Kaya (20th and Smallman - Caribbean food, muy bien) before heading over (I'll be at Kaya at about 7:00 PM). For those of you driving, parking shouldn't be a problem during the week.
I still say one of these days we should go to Klavons. (Old fashioned ice cream parlor in the Strip. They make their own whipped cream).
Firehouse Lounge is awesome. Outside patio, big comfy couches, paprika'ed popcorn.
Some dude costumed as Qui Gon, and man was he a dead ringer! He got a little tipsy and started dancing on the bartop though.
We totally MST'ed the whole movie (worse than when we had the
O-OT party), which was ok since we had the place pretty much to ourselves. That's right... no need for a buffer. The projector and scrren is such that you can make shadow puppets that bite off Jar Jar's head.
End of night sequence:
bartender girl: "OMG I can't wait til these people get out of here..."
us: "Ok then, see you next week!"
How expensive is it?
The movie is free; you pay for drinks.
Cool. What's the movie next week-that might be better for me than the 17th? (Baby Sis has a concert.)
AOTC, they are going in order.
Cool! (Mmmm...bearded Obi!)
All right-update. I THINK I can get a bus to town, and then walk, as long as it's not too far. However, I need to know, what time does it end, and how to manage getting home.
We can be shuttle drivers!
Next week I don't think Jason can get out of work in time to go. I have jury duty, but I'm sure I'll be out of there and still up for seeing AotC.
If anyone is able to get some pics of tonight's or next week's Movies and Mojhitos please send them to me for the website.
w00t. Much fun, although I'm feeling a bit sleepy today. Can't wait until next week! More people need to come to this!
I'm not going to be at ROTS tomorrow night - Kathy and I are heading to the Rivertowne Inn in Verona to watch the Pens game. I may see if my friend Rich is interested in going (since he's thinking about going to Comicon).
Well, I'm sorry but that "drinks on my tab" was for tomorrow only. j/k i'll pay ya back sometime.
WHO IS GOING??
ok i was there.
i love getting called a "star wars b****" by a bunch of drunken jag (fels)
if i had a lightsaber, i'd have hollowed them out and crawled inside for warmth...
