JCC Movies, books, other forms of media children need to see

In this thread we compile a list a list of books, movies and other forms of media for kids to watch and read or even listen to. So that the children could have a good grasp of culture and intelligence for later. To become a well rounded individual. Not get an answer from google or you tube clip.

Star Wars, what better form of entertainment for a kid then the Star Wars movies.
GodFather, when they are in their teens. Language and violence of course.

 

I second MLK and add Kennedy's We Choose to Go to the Moon speech. I also add Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz and anything Pixar does..

If you have kids and you haven't read "The Hobbit" to them then you're a terrible parent.

 

I feel like you should wait until your kids are old enough to read something like that on their own.

Nothing. That's my answer. Kids should explore stuff on their own. They shouldn't have to read Martin Luther King's speeches, that's punishment.

And Monty Python... Not everybody finds them funny. I don't. It's accountants acting silly basically, bank managers on a mad day out.

I'm making them watch A Serbian Film as well. I'm a wonderful dad.

 

It'll teach them important life lessons, like maybe if you want people to take your exploitative shlock as allegorical you should actually try to be allegorical.
