I'm looking forward to Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween, he takes gore to a whole new level.

On another note, I saw a preview for fanboys the other night on TV!

Not that I'm a huge Trek fan, but upon hearing this news today, I'm quite intrigued....

John Cho (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) has been cast as Sulu, the
Enterprise's helmsman, while Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the
Dead) has signed on to play Scotty, the ship's Scottish chief engineer,
in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek feature for Paramount.

Already on board are Eric Bana as the villain, Nero, Zoe Saldana as
Uhura and Anton Yelchin as a young Chekov, the Russian-born navigator,
as well as Zachary Quinto as a young Spock. Leonard Nimoy, who
originated the role of Spock, is on board as well. Chris Pine is in
talks to play the young Kirk.

The movie is expected to shoot from November-March.

Plot details are begin kept under wraps, but it is understood that the
movie chronicles the early days of the Enterprise crew. The lead roles
remaining to be cast are Christopher Pike, the first captain of the
    Enterprise, and Kirk's parents.

Simon Pegg as Scotty is the big seller for me - let's hope this movie will be better than their regular fare :)

That makes no sense. Robert April was the first captain of the Enterprise.

The town of Vulcan wants to have the new Star Trek movie world premiere there when it comes out. I can't see it really happening.

Well, they've nailed down Chris Pine for Kirk and rumours say that Karl Urban (aka Eomer) will be playing Bones. This is turning out to be quite a curious movie [face_thinking]

If Simon Pegg is scotty, how can they not have Nick Frost as kirk!?!?! His scene-owning arrogance and girdle-bursting physique are a perfect match. He can propel many styrofoam rocks with his mighty arms, and any idiot can do the voice.

Or at least pick Jim Carrey, who did the best kirk impression ever on In Living Color.

Saw Bee Movie a couple of weeks ago - was pretty decent. Not Pixar good, but it had it's moments. Am trying to see Beowulf in IMAX but it's been selling out every day - ugh! American Gangster, No Country for Old Men, Enchanted and The Mist are still on my list.

Will definitely be going to see Hayden in AWAKE this weekend though. And then just another month until FANBOYS hits!!

I'm gonna see if I can get an 'in' at the theatre for a special screening for our group (but given the absence of so many members, that could just mean 5 of us :p ). I'll talk to Fred and see if he can do anything.
