Greetings. I currently live in california. Due to rent prices escalating and a sudden sense of adventure, me and my best friends are moving to Houston. I was wondering if you guys could tell me some things about Houston. what are the best places to live? what fun stuff is there to do? any tornadoes to worry about? etc.

I look forward to the move. I have heard so many wonderful things about This place.

    Thanks a lot.

Boredom is the due to a lack of imagination.
    - There are no tornadoes
    - Occasional coastal rains
    - Smog is bad
    - Where you live depends on money and personality.
    - Try to visit just to make sure you don't totally hate this place.

I hate this place. Luckily, I go to school in Austin so I only spend the equivalent of around 4-5 months here.

    Is it really that bad?

I hear the cost of living is cheap tho. What do you do for fun there?

Ride horses and go cow tipping ;) jj

Go out with friends to bars/clubs or people's houses. Either that or go to the Star wars exhibit:)

I've played ball and travelled across this country. I cant think of but two or three other places I'd rather live besides Houston.

The weather is crazy in the winter & fall, but it beats the snow. The club scene is pretty good, considering I'm director of sec. for the five latin clubs I work for. There will always be women by the multitude. And plenty of restaurants, I mean plenty.

But I guess when it comes down to it, no matter where you are, its what you make of it.

houston is not that bad. the entertainment prices here tend to be cheaper than in other places. my advice to you would be to get a place about 30 miles out from houston,(we pay 634 for a 3 bed 2 bath in rosenberg)and join our now forming fan force chapter !!!
