MS Update 1/5/2005 - 01/11/2005

I present to you with great honor, the MS Update for the week of January 11, 2005:

A New Protégé ? A vote was held amongst the MS for a new CT moderator, with four candidates being presented. A winner was chosen and an announcement should be forthcoming this week.


Charming To The Last ? The beloved DamonD, longtime moderator of our very own Classic Trilogy forum, said his final farewell to the MS. Expect Damon to slip into the realm of VIPship in the following days. Please feel free to thank him for all of his hard work and contributions to the JC in the last year. He will be sorely missed amongst the MS.


You Can Run, But You Can?t Hide ? The discussion and investigation into the hacking incident, which resulted in the compromising of several JC accounts, continued over the last week. The responsible parties were sought out and the appropriate action was taken against those involved.


Forgotten Acquaintances ? Raven demoted several moderator accounts which had been dormant for quite sometime, the longest being six years. (Emoticon compliments of Damon)


Technical Rundown ? TFN Technical Administrator HongKongFu-y informed us that the www1 server would be moving, thus icons and templates would be relocating. The move resulted with little to no trouble.

zerosleep informed us that due to some system tune-ups, posting should now be faster for all community users.


Yeah, Yeah We Know. Disruption Means Only One Thing....Invasion ? dp4m is making a move this week and his online time may be altered slightly due to some ISP issues. Expect him to be back in full force by week?s end.


'Classic' Renovations ? An MS vote was held between several worthy candidates for the new Classic Trilogy banner. The vote is still open and very close, expect an announcement sometime in the next week.


If Created, It Could Be A Powerful Ally ? The creation of a GRAND FORUM OF THE PREQUEL TRILOGY continued this week, with the results from the polls located in the film forums (Community, TPM, AOTC) being taken into consideration.


Games Abound - A tournament is currently being held in the Census forum. What is this tournament you ask? Why the best Star Wars lines, of course! Follow this link to join in on the madness.

EDIT2: Also, could we clarify when the rules changed about permabanned members being allowed back under new names? I applaud the "live and let live" attitude, but can't help feeling that if such individuals were not so e-important, they wouldn't be posting.
