I've been reviewing the original trilogy soundtrack CDs for the LOTS background music and suddenly realized an amazing thing. Now, keep in mind that I've always regarding John Williams among the top six composures living today, and have great respect for him. I also wouldn't put it past him to have done this intentionally as his own ultra-inside joke, but ...

The emporer's theme, that dark and very sinister bit of moaning music that plays whenever he is around and makes even his walking across the room to be a truly creepy thing, has all the same tones and shifts as Disney's Haunted Mansion's "Grim Grinning Ghost" song. If you can lay your hands on the Haunted Mansion soundtrack, compare the entrance music (the slower version of GGG) to the emporer's theme. Then, when you play the regular GGG, the comparison will be obvious.
