    No...sorry

I can't stand those Bloody monks...

When it came to ambience and chants I prefered Deep Forest and Every Man and Woman is a Star

1 = MCMXC a.D. (The one with the monks)
2 = Cross of Changes (Native Americans - Return to Innocence)
3 = Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! (The crap one)
4 = Screen Behind The Mirror (Carl Orff's Carmina Burana as lead sample)

Quoff...One should not be listening to the abrasive and cacophonous tones of said Michael Cretu and his Enigma projects..one must look to the source of said music..

Brian Eno's Music For Airports is a good place to start..and doesn't look half as embarrassing on the old record shelf

No...not heard it...I was never all that keen on stuff like Pulp anyway..it was my rebel against conformity thing I had going on..hated Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Radiohead etc etc...

Well, I was 12 and just "discovering" (use that with a pinch of salt) "music" (see discovering). Of course, being that age and not reading any music press I had no idea what I was buying - hence Republica's eponymous debut amd other horrors in my collection. My God, that seems so long ago

Just as a closer to this whole conversation, I'd like to make a comment on the general issue of defining musical 'taste'. This is because I'm getting bored of defending my said 'musical taste'...

When looking at the issue of musical taste, remember the old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...or in this case "Good music is in the ear of the listener".
It is the height, the very pinnacle, of arrogance to class anyone's choice in music as bad or tasteless. I prefer Phil Collins to Craig David, Genesis to Radiohead, Enigma to Dr Dre...is this tasteless? No...just a different taste in music to others.
Sorry...just had enough of arguing, even light-heartedly about my choice in music..I've spent the past ten years doing so and I was hoping that when I left Secondary School, I would leave that sort of crap behind...

Oh...I happen to like Republica too!
