Indeed, never understood vidoes to tell the truth. Music I feel is purily an audio thing, nice to have the video to inhance it but it should never be taken into consideration to the music actually playing... Never ceases to amaze me to hear people say, "Oh I love that song" then you ask them why and they say, "cause the video clip is so cute" or something like that. No mention of the actuall style of the music, just the video.

 

I've heard someone say once "I never liked that song until I saw the video".

I like some music videos like the Foo Fighters, weezer and the Beastie Boys (mainly because they're funny and they don't take themselves seriously)

 

Remember way back when, when video clips where just a whole big light show with the band playing on a stage? Like on that show... top of the pops back in the 70's?

That's when you had to appreciate the music... cause you had to stare at the band members for the whole 3 minutes or whatever! Lol

 

I'll often be entranced by a video, but it never makes me by the record or tune in to triple M in the hopes of hearing it.

I enjoy music videos as an art form in and of themselves, and I find it both sad and funny that people base their CD purchases on film clips.

 

My Favourite kind of clips are those which actually RELATE to the song in some way shape or form... I mean some video clips have no actually relevance to the song itself.

Like that stupid Scott Cain clip or those Holly Valance clips where you see her dancin around in nothing... hold on... maybe it's relevant to one of her song's.. 'Naughty Girl'

The Foo FIghters are just champions Their 'Next Year' film clip is totally awesome about travelling in outer space and such as well as their 'Learn To Fly' That was a cool video clip

Tenatious D's Film clip of 'The Greatest Song In The World' was also pretty well done

 

I will admit this though, I was very tempted to get the Gorillaz DVD for the funky animated clips the music I can take or leave it... What can I say I have a thing for animation , However I have heard there has been problems with that DVD so I have obstained from it so far.

 

I like the Gorillaz music and their clips so I might have to pick that one up.

The best Foo Fighters clip is "Everlong" (It's also the best song they've ever done)

I'm not a huge fan of the Beastie Boys but their clip for body movin' is a classic.

Regurgitators clip for "Everyday Formula" is also a classic.

 

And the list goes on and on.

 

I like music that is known for being played almost exclusively in Parisian gay bars. (Electro-Jazz, etc...)

 

I find your choice disturbing.
