    Greetings,
I just finished a short animation test of a Mutant Chair walk cycle, and dodging deformation for an "upcoming feature." ;D

    (2 seconds, about 250k, quicktime)

    What do you think?

If there are any suggestions, please give them. Also, if anybody knows how to add a shadow or reflection into a maya animation of this type, please tell me.

    Thanks for your help,
    Andy

What you could do is take the animation movie file (in After Effects), duplicate it, flip it vertically, make it completely black (with curves) feather it, change the opacity and you should have a shadow.

Then you stick the original animation and shadow on the background.

Of course, assuming you have After Effects.

And regarding AE: I wish I had it, but don't. (yet...)

    Anybody else?

    Thanks!

What do you mean by saturated lighting?
Higher color saturation, or more lights closer together?

Yep, that was a rocket. Basically an excuse to get him to twist like that. :D

    Thanks, althegreat.

I've been working on another shot... anybody know how to make a plane transparent except for the shadow on it?

    *whew*
Thankfully, I was able to figure out the floor reflections and shadows! It's funny... this has been bugging me for 2-3 days trying to figure out. I picked up a random manual, (there's about 13 of them) turned to a random page (there's about 300 of them) and BINGO. There it was, in very simple steps ;D

So, I'll have another test up soon. This one has the shadows and stuff, and TWO chairs, with an improved walk cycle (to look more like a quadroped... it's kinda a mix between a monkey and spider ;D)

    Thanks for everybody's suggestions!
