My 5th anniversary at the Jedi Council

On June 22nd, 2000, I registered here at the Jedi Council forums.

My first post was in Literature, answering someone's question about what stories Callista appeared in after Planet of Twlight. ( For the record, the answer was the Adventure Journal story "Murder In Slushtime", by Barbara Hambly. )

Ironically, that first post was my only one for months.

In late 2000, I ramped up my posting, and by 2001 was a full-fledged regular, going beyond Lit and traversing the dangerous territory of the movie forums, holding my own against the most vile of Purists in the canon wars.

Anyway, it's great to be back, now that Revenge of the Sith is out, and I no longer need to avoid spoilers, and I've got that JC fire all over again. This place really is a drug. And gosh, has it really been five years? What's another five? Soon it'll be a decade...

A big thanks to all of my friends here, in each forum they may reside in.

And in case anyone is curious ( I always wish I could cram this in my profile bio ), my user name is based on my first Star Wars RPG character ( a bounty hunter. ) I was always a Wedge fan, and the "Sturm" was partially inspired by the Dragonlance character of Sturm Brightblade.

I'm coming up on my third year, which is a bit daunting. But let's not get sidetracked.

Man - what a difference 5 years makes here and in the Star Wars EU. This site's been better off because you've been hear the past half-decade, Sturm.

congrats sturm - I suppose you're counting the months you were absent due to avoiding spoilers for episode 3?

My 5 years was in April. It came and went and I basically forgot about it!

 

Wow, 5 years. I hope this place is still around by the time it reaches 5 years for me.

Nice about it being five years of posting, but given that your establishment is currently deserted, shouldn't you be holding this there, where quaffing, carousing, and other disreputable entertainments can go forth?

 

I could have had this in the OC, but I really did sorta want to make it a special post/thread. I'm not lying when I say the JC means a lot to me as a SW fan.

You were one of the first people to welcome me when I began posting here a little over three years ago, and I'm glad you're back here in this community - it has been and continues to be a better place because you're here. But jeez, five years... You make me feel like a newbie!

 

Heck, I still feel like a n00b, when it comes to people with '98 and '99 registration dates.
