And people argue that capitalism is efficient.

Aren't you supposed to know that?

I'm pretty sure my internal charge rate (large corporation, etc.) is something like $400K a year if multiplying the weekly rate times 50 weeks. I... do not make that much.

It's very efficient. At certain things.

Yeah -- people don't actually think billables go 100% towards compensating the people doing the work, do they?

Man, no wonder people hate lawyers. Among all the other reasons, I mean. :p

When Del-Air, or ADT, or Time Warner (etc) charge customers $70-200 for a repairman/tech to come to their house to just look at a problem, I don't assume that said repairman/tech is getting that $70-200 per house visit.

Kinki-Goon, did you not know you work for a for-profit company?

No, I'm a full time employee of the consulting firm I work for so I'm not supposed to see how much they're bleeding the client for.

On a yearly basis the client is only paying out a paltry $270,000 (using the same 50 weeks) for me so I'm from the bargain bin at the front of the store compared to you.

Does it really matter? All you do is post here all day.

And what are the opex costs of having you Kiki?

I mean your contribution to the PI cover, payroll tax, health and retirement spending, desk space, resources you use?

That's a good point. Not to mention stolen office supplies.

I'm kidding... nothing here is worth stealing.

The company time seems worth stealing based on your posting habits.

I'm pretty sure he's also constantly bragging about how much work he never does, and going to the movies during business hours. So. I'd agree that it's probably very inefficient.

It's not bragging so much as reporting.

I seem to remember that Kiki works in finance. I say "steal" all you want from them. And file those TPS reports.

Kiki is the name of the ancient Norse god of slacking, isn't it?
