Hope you had a great time at the WW LA, Cat! I'm sure folks were 20 deep, waiting for cards from you! :D

Great sketch cards, too--and I'm on the Han bandwagon with everyone else, but I also just lurve the way you do Batman--you really to capture the "Dark Knight" look of him sooo well!

    Awesome!

*picks teeth up off the floor, then throws a jealous hissy-fit, breaking pencils in half...*

    :D ;)

Wow...I have to agree with your "favorite sketch cards!" Awesome... It just stuns me, that you get such beautiful likenesses with such economy--Obi Wan and Vader were the ones that made my teeth fall out! Sheesh...

    **bows humbly before the Master**

    Just wow...

    Hi Kiddies...

I have collaborated on a project with fellow Star Wars Artist Tom Hodges. We were asked to do the cover for the Dallas Comic Con April Show. One of the features guests is Karen Allen of Raiders of the Lost Ark Fame. So we worked through a few ideas and finally decided on the scene in with the medallion and the money.

We wanted to try and split the cover between our two styles. So Tom did the layout sketch and inked it in his style, I then did my thing and fleshed her out. We were going for the Timm/Ross painting the Justice League look. We came out with this:

    [image=http://www.airbrushcat.com/newart2/DCCa.jpg]
This is not the final cover I will replace this image with the actual cover when the graphics are done

We also decided to try our personal hand at the same image. Me, creating the Photoreal version and Tom his animated version and created this triptych:

I never tire at looking at your work, Cat. That's really awesome! I think the joint effort worked really well here. And I particularly like the progression of the different styles you highlighted underneath. Nice job! :D

Oh, what a beautiful blend of the two styles! =D= I have to admit, though, Cat--I really really love your version of the scene--gorgeous! It's easy to see your airbrush at work in the blended version--the shading and highlights are the give-away! ;) Another great piece (and I'm sure Ms. Allen will be delighted with them all!)!

StarWars.com How to Draw Series: Drawing Jango Fett

In the final years of the Republic, Jango Fett was regarded as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Father to the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett, it's Jango's image that was eventually replicated over and over again to create the Clone army.

Star Wars illustrator Cat Staggs explains with these easy-to-follow steps on how to draw Jango Fett.

Great work! I saw the Jango step-by-step on the site before seeing it here. I really like the pose you've got, it goes well with the facial expression. Nicely done!

Wow!! Loving the portrait "rough"--the detailing already there is astounding to see: so this is how the fabulous Cat Staggs starts off one of her amazining portraits, with all the various areas of light and dark carefully defined... What a great view into your process--thanks for that! And you're so great at sharing all the "how to" stuff, too--it's very generous, and most certainly encourages the future generations of LFL artists! =D=

Awesome as always, Cat! =D= I love the way you managed to draw Leia's holographic image with Luke and Obi Wan--it looks so great, and is something I wouldn't even think was possible with graphite... Beautiful work with that--it looks very realistic!

And I'm on the "great Dumbledor" piece with everyone else: absolutely fabulous lighting and color on that one! It's perfect for the character, and just beautifully done! Brava!! I never get tired of looking at your work, my Lady--it's truly amazing!

    Drawing Han Solo
    June 07, 2006
    Star Wars.com Star Wars: Kids

As a smirking smuggler, handsome rogue and pilot to the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy -- the Millennium Falcon -- Han Solo had his share of close-call encounters with his trusted Wookiee sidekick Chewbacca. But it wasn't until he was hired to transport Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and C-3PO from Tatooine to Alderaan in A New Hope that his real adventure began.

OMG! You did Han! *bounces off the walls like a little kid*

I know I draw Han ALLL the time and pretty much have him down, but I just have to give this a try. Besides, it gives me another excuse to draw him. ;)

Excellent job as always, Cat! :D

Force, this is amazing!! I just love seeing this "how to" thing from you, Cat--it's just so informative, educational and inspirational. The finished product is just amazing--I love this, with Han smiling broadly--so many of the photos of him are not smiling, with him so grim. This is a wonderful view to work from for that reason alone! Outstanding, as usual!
