    I'm posting some images of 4 hilts that I've made via my dad's shop. I hope to use all of them in my next duel that I'm shooting with a newly acquired Canon HV30. Please check em out and post your thoughts, thanks.

    Lucky son of a gun with a "Dad's Shop" :p. I think they look good. I think that you could add a little more detail to make them more unique. But that's just me.

    They look really neat. What did you use for the black parts? Epoxy? Only problem with that stuff is that it's really expensive, I think.

    When it wasn't O-rings it was Plasti-Dip, a rubber based all-surface paint. While yes, I do have a "Dad's Shop", he only has a lathe and not a mill so my uniqueness is sadly limited to one direction cuts8-}

    Heh - I've used that stuff. The warning labels are pretty intimidating... it's nasty!

    Those are really nice man, good job.

    Edit: Is the one that's third from the top thinner than all the others or is that just the way it looks in the picture?

    Since it looks like it's double-bladed, I'd assume he had to take the picture from farther away in order to fit it all in.

    I actually had to teach myself how to use the lathe. The hilts that you see are my 2nd and 3rd attempts so I think they are fairly decent. I obtained the aluminum stock from a place called Pacific Steel where you can buy it in any diameter and length, so basically your local recycling plant.
